Benidorm, that sun-drenched haven on the Costa Blanca North, is gearing up for a serious dose of Christmas cheer. The town has officially launched its "Beninadal 2025" programme, promising a month-long festive extravaganza that's sure to delight locals and tourists alike. Forget just a week or two of tinsel and carols; Benidorm's going all-in this year, and I, for one, am here for it.
Benidorm Christmas 2025: Month of Festive Fun... B...
The festivities kicked off this past Saturday, November 29th, with the grand opening of "La Casa de Navidad" (the Christmas House, naturally) and the dazzling illumination of the city's Christmas lights. The whole shebang runs right through to January 6th, 2026, meaning you've got plenty of time to soak up the holiday spirit. Think Christmas house expositions, dance performances, exhibitions galore, parades, and, get this, an ice rink. In sunny Spain! I'm picturing some hilarious holiday moments on that ice.
The inauguration was quite the spectacle, featuring a performance by Spanish singer Gisela right in the Plaza de la Navidad. Can't say I know her music intimately, but the atmosphere was undeniably buzzing.
December looks absolutely packed. We're talking children's shows that'll keep the little ones entertained, dance performances for the culture vultures, proper cultural theater for a bit of sophistication, amusement rides for the thrill-seekers, and holiday-themed exhibitions for, well, everyone! And let's not forget that ice rink, plus a traditional Christmas market. I'm already dreaming of artisan goods, handcrafted treasures, and, most importantly, those local delicacies. You know I'll be sampling those.
For those who appreciate a bit of tradition, two nativity scenes will be on display. One will be in the Plaza de SS MM Reyes de España, opening on December 6th, and the other at the ACR La Barqueta headquarters on Tomás Ortuño Street, available from December 8th. Best part? Both are free and open to all ages until January 6th. Perfect for a family outing.
Santa Claus himself will be making appearances at the Christmas House on various dates, and the Royal Postman will be at Christmas Square in early January to collect those all-important letters to the Three Kings. Speaking of which, from January 2nd to 5th, the Three Kings' Camp will be set up in the gardens surrounding the Town Hall, culminating in the Grand Parade on the evening of January 5th.
The Cultural Centre's auditorium is also getting in on the act, hosting a magic show, a children's musical, and a New Year’s Concert. Benidorm Mayor Antonio Pérez Pérez has promised even more surprises and daily activities throughout the month, so keep your eyes peeled! It sounds like Benidorm is really trying to create a magical Christmas experience for everyone. I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.
