Denia Pizza Renaissance! World-Class Slices Return - You Won't Believe Where!

Nestled within the bustling Els Magazinos food market, where evocative aromas mingle with storytelling flavors, Pizzería San Vito is etching its name in culinary history. For the second consecutive year, San Vito has earned a coveted spot among the top three pizzas in the Valencian Community. In 2025, the pizzeria ascended to an impressive second place, lauded for its celebrated Mortadella & Pistacchio creation.

Denia Pizza Renaissance! World-Class Slices Return...

This achievement is rooted in a legacy that began back in 1993. Giovanni Stanisci Sr. and his wife, Reme, opened the first San Vito on Lepanto Street in Denia. Think back – early 90s! As one of the city's pioneering pizzerias, it started as a modest Roman-style bakery. But it quickly became a local favorite. Families, young people, everyone embraced its simple, authentic offerings. The key, I think, was they just kept things real.

Later, San Vito moved and became a local institution on Benitatxell Street for nine years, known for its unpretentious commitment to excellent pizza, always true to its core values. This is the kind of place that just becomes woven into the fabric of a town.

Then, in 2011, tragedy struck. The passing of Giovanni Sr. forced the closure of the business. Denia really mourned the loss. It wasn't just a restaurant closing; a family grieved the loss of their project, and a story was abruptly paused. These little family-run places... they mean so much to a community.

But a decade later, the silence was broken. After ten years honing his skills in other pizzerias, Giovanni Stanisci Jr., alongside his wife Leidy, decided the time had come to revive the family legacy. In May 2024, the Stanisci name once again ignited the oven, this time in the vibrant setting of Els Magazinos. Talk about a comeback!

With a revitalized approach, San Vito was reborn, evolving into a restaurant where pizza transcends mere sustenance, becoming a true experience. And the accolades haven't stopped rolling in:

* **2024:** Top 15 in Spain and 3rd best pizza in the Valencian Community with the Piemonte. * **2025:** 2nd best pizza in the Valencian Community with the Mortadella & Pistacchio – a masterpiece featuring pistachio pesto, fior di latte, goat’s robiola, baked mortadella, Grana Padano DOP, buffalo burrata, and pistachio crumble. (Seriously, just reading that makes me hungry!)

The final of the Spanish Best Pizza Championship, held at Yellow Park by Glovo in Barcelona, witnessed this meteoric rise. Among the country’s finest pizzaioli, Giovanni Jr.’s creation once again put Dénia on the national pizza map.

But beyond the awards, San Vito’s success, I think, lies in the heartfelt tribute behind every pizza: a nod to Giovanni Sr.’s quiet dedication, Reme’s care, the loyal customers of the original pizzeria, and the new diners discovering an evolved version of that timeless essence. It's about more than just the ingredients.

At Els Magazinos, where tradition meets modernity, San Vito continues to knead a family story that now belongs to the city too, with a simple promise passed from father to son: to give every customer the chance to enjoy one of the best pizzas of their life. You can find them at Els Magazinos, Carrer de Joan Fuster, Dénia. For reservations or enquiries: +34 965 78 12 34. Go check them out!
