Netflix SHOCKS HOLLYWOOD! Buys Warner Bros for $82.7 Billion?!
Gaming News 06 December 2025

Well, folks, hold onto your hats because the media world just tilted on its axis. Netflix is poised to swallow Warner Bros. Discovery whole in a deal worth a whopping $82.7 billion. That's right, the streaming behemoth is about to get a whole lot bigger, and frankly, it’s a move that could redefine how we consume entertainment.

Netflix SHOCKS HOLLYWOOD! Buys Warner Bros for $82...

The rumor mill has been churning for weeks, with whispers about WBD actively shopping itself around. Paramount was reportedly in the mix too, but Netflix clearly came out on top. The deal, while not yet inked and sealed, is expected to close sometime next year. Imagine that: Netflix, the king of streaming, owning the keys to the Warner Bros. kingdom. Think Batman, Harry Potter, and, yes, even "Game of Thrones." It's a content goldmine, and Netflix just struck paydirt.

What does this mean for us, the viewers? Well, in the short term, probably not much. But down the line, expect to see a consolidation of content, more exclusive releases, and potentially, some strategic bundling of services. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some major shakeups in the coming years as Netflix integrates WBD's vast library. It's going to be fascinating (and possibly a little scary) to watch unfold.

Moving on from the corporate battlefield to the digital racetrack, data miners have been digging around in the code of "Mario Kart World" and have potentially unearthed some tantalizing clues. It seems like we might be getting some new DLC soon, possibly featuring a Donkey Kong Bananza boss battle. Now, I'm not the biggest "Mario Kart" aficionado myself, but even I can appreciate the appeal of flinging bananas at Donkey Kong while speeding around a virtual track. Count me intrigued!

Finally, some sad news to report from the entertainment world. We lost a true talent yesterday with the passing of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa at the age of 75. He will forever be remembered for his iconic portrayal of Shang Tsung in the original "Mortal Kombat" movie and its related video game appearances. He brought a chilling presence and a certain gravitas to the role that has been tough to replicate. He also appeared in "Rising Sun," and many other films. He will be missed.
