Christmas has officially landed in Teulada Moraira, and from the looks of things, it's going to be a jam-packed month of festive fun. The town is already shimmering with lights, and the air is thick with that pre-Christmas buzz – you know, the one that makes you want to reach for a mug of something warm and start humming carols (even if it's still technically early December!).
Teulada Moraira Aglow! Christmas Lights Spark Holi...
The official kickoff to the musical celebrations is slated for Friday, December 12th, with the International Choir's Christmas concert at the Church of the Virgen de los Desamparados in Moraira. I always find these local choir performances to be particularly special; there's something so heartwarming about hearing familiar carols sung with such obvious passion and community spirit.
And just when you think the holiday cheer can't possibly get any higher, the Lions Club Teulada Moraira will be hosting their annual Christmas concert on Sunday, December 14th, in the Plaza de la Iglesia in Moraira. It's always a great opportunity to give back and support the important work they do in the community – plus, who doesn't love a good Christmas concert?
But wait, there's more! Saturday sounds like a perfect blend of activity and tradition. We're talking a festive swim at El Portet Beach (brrr!), followed by the arrival of Father Christmas himself in the afternoon. I'm not sure I'm brave enough for the swim, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for Santa!
The festivities don't stop there. December 21st brings more Christmas market fun, concerts, and even more Father Christmas sightings! Plus, the Auditori Teulada Moraira will be hosting a performance of "The Sleeping Beauty". That's something for the culture vultures among us. I've heard good things about the Auditori, so it should be a great venue for the show.
And because it’s Christmas, Monday, December 22, we get the Christmas Blood Marathon at the Auditori. It's a chance to give back and a reminder that the season is about more than just presents and parties. This particular event seems to be a really well-loved tradition around here.
On Tuesday, December 23, the Cant de la Sibil·la at the Church of Santa Catalina Mártir promises to be a truly unique experience. I understand it's an ancient tradition with deep roots in the region, so it's a fantastic opportunity to connect with the local culture.
The grand finale, of course, is on Monday, January 5th, with the Epiphany parades. The Three Kings will make their grand entrance, first in Moraira and then later in the evening in Teulada. This is a big deal here in Spain, and it's always a spectacle worth seeing. Finally, Epiphany Masses on January 6th will bring the celebrations to a close. It’s going to be a busy few weeks, but definitely a memorable way to end the year and start the new one.
