Big news for fight fans! It looks like Paramount+ is doubling down on their commitment to mixed martial arts, announcing they'll be the new home for both "Dana White's Contender Series" and "The Ultimate Fighter" starting in 2026. The announcement dropped like a perfectly timed takedown at CCXP in São Paolo, Brazil, with UFC CEO Dana White himself delivering the news in a video segment. And if you know Dana, you know he doesn't do anything halfway.
UFC Shocker: Beloved Shows AXED?! Fans Demand Answ...
The CCXP presentation was quite the affair, hosted by UFC broadcaster André Azevedo and the reigning two-time light heavyweight champ, Alex Pereira – a hometown hero in Brazil. They even brought out some of Brazil's rising MMA stars from The Fighting Nerds team, including Bruna Basil, Caio Borralho, Carlos Prates, and Jean Silva. It was a real celebration of the sport, and a clear message that the UFC sees Brazil as a vital market. Makes perfect sense, considering the rich history of Brazilian fighters in the UFC.
This move isn't exactly out of left field, though. It builds on the existing seven-year media rights partnership that the UFC and Paramount inked back in August. That deal already made Paramount+ the exclusive U.S. home for UFC events. They then expanded that deal in October to include Latin America and Australia, also effective in 2026. Adding these two flagship development series seems like a natural progression, solidifying Paramount+'s position as the go-to streaming service for UFC fanatics.
"Dana White's Contender Series" is a pretty big deal. For those unfamiliar, it's essentially an audition for aspiring UFC fighters. They step into the cage, give it their all, and try to impress Dana White and the UFC matchmakers enough to earn a coveted contract. The show has been a launching pad for some serious talent. Think Sean O’Malley, Jamahal Hill, Jack Della Maddalena... the list goes on. It's a fantastic way to discover new talent and see future stars before they hit the big time. I personally think it’s a great watch because you get to see the raw emotion and desperation of these fighters giving everything they’ve got for a shot.
Of course, this partnership isn't just talk and future promises. The UFC and Paramount+ are kicking things off in a big way on January 24th with UFC 324, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. That's the first of 13 marquee numbered events slated for 2026 that will be gracing our screens via Paramount+. So, if you're a fight fan looking for a streaming home, it sounds like Paramount+ is making a strong case for your subscription dollars.
