Happy almost new year, or whenever you happen to be reading this. As 2025 winds down, it's time to peek ahead at the Gaming landscape of the coming year. And let me tell you, 2026 looks packed. Here are some of 2026's most anticipated releases – mark your calendars!

2026 Gaming BOMBSHELL! You WON'T Believe These Tit...

**January 15:** Get ready to pay off another virtual mortgage! *Animal Crossing: New Horizons* gets a new lease on life – and a new mortgage to pay off – when the beloved debt, yard work, and interior decoration simulator arrives on the Switch 2. For the 50 million who bought *Animal Crossing* on the original Switch, an upgrade to the Switch 2 version will be available for just $5. Meanwhile, Switch 1 players will receive the 3.0 update, adding hotel renovation and in-game items based on other Nintendo properties, as well as LEGO’s line of *Animal Crossing* sets. It's a win-win, even if Tom Nook still gets all the wins at the end of the day.

January 15th is apparently the day to release a game. Also on the 15th, *The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond The Horizon*, the *seventeenth* installment in *The Legend of Heroes* series (or the thirteenth in the *Trails* series) and a direct sequel to 2022’s *Legend of Heroes Trails Through Daybreak II*, launches on all Switch models, PlayStations, and PC. If you’re a fan, you’re already hyped. If you’re not, well, good luck catching up on the lore. It's a commitment, that's for sure.

And wait, there's more! Not quite a JRPG, but JRPG-adjacent, *Dynasty Warriors Origins* also hits Switch 2 that day, alongside the *Visions of Four Heroes* DLC expansion, which also comes to existing platforms. It seems like everyone wants to start the year with some strategic action.

**January 26:** *Highguard*, a new PVP raid game from ex-Respawn developers who worked on *Titanfall* and *Apex Legends*, drops. While sharing some DNA with those titles, *Highguard* takes a different direction with a fantasy flair. If you've ever wanted to bear arms while riding a bear, this free-to-play title on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series is for you. Sounds... interesting, to say the least. It's free to play, so who can complain?

Sometime in January, Riot Games’ 2v2 fighting game *2XKO*, featuring characters from *League of Legends*, will hit PS5 and Xbox Series, after being in early access on PC since October. It will be interesting to see if this game will fill the fighting game void.

**February 5:** *Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined* arrives on PS5, Xbox Series, both Switch models, and PC. Originally released stateside for PS1 in 2001, and then on 3DS 15 years later, it's now getting a full modern overhaul. JRPGs aren’t known for being concise, and this one is infamously beefy, so don't be surprised if you sink 100 hours into just the main quest. I remember playing the original and being amazed at the sheer scale of it. Hopefully, this reimagining captures that same sense of epic adventure.

**February 6:** If you’d rather just make a bunch of colorful characters hit each other, *My Hero Academia: All’s Justice*, a 3v3 arena fighter featuring several dozen characters from the beloved anime series, releases on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.

**February 11:** *Romeo* is a ...
