Sonic LEGO Sets on Sale?! Gamers Are Going Wild!

Alright, Sonic fans, buckle up! It seems the blue blur is trading his sneakers for wheels, or rather, Lego bricks, as Lego officially unveils its first Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds sets. This is a pretty cool evolution, especially seeing how Lego Super Mario successfully branched into kart building last year. Now it's Sonic's turn to hit the racetrack, swapping platforming for some high-speed racing action.

The initial lineup is looking pretty sweet. We've got Sonic's Speedster Lightning Car and a two-pack that pits Silver's Car against Knuckles' Monster Truck. I've always been a sucker for the Sonic characters, and seeing them translated into Lego form, especially with vehicles, is just plain fun.

Let's dive into the details, shall we? The bigger set, "Silver's Car vs. Knuckles' Monster Truck," clocks in at 378 pieces. For 40 bucks at Amazon, or at the Lego Store and Best Buy, you get minifigures of Knuckles and Silver – marking the debut of Silver in the Lego Sonic universe, which is a win in my book. Plus, of course, their signature vehicles from Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. But that's not all! There are also some cool accessories like a toolbox on wheels (with miniature tools, naturally!) and even a starting light. And get this, the toolbox houses *two* Chaos Emeralds. I mean, Lego is really nailing the details here.

Knuckles' monster truck is a chunky, robust red and black beast with flame detailing, and it's not tiny either, measuring about 5 x 3.5 x 2.5 inches. It looks like a vehicle that's ready for some serious brick-built off-roading.

The smaller set, the 126-piece Speedster Lightning Race Car, is a perfect entry point at only $10. You get a Lego Sonic minifigure, the Speedster itself (which, by the way, hides a Chaos Emerald under the hood – sneaky!), and even three Gold Rings equipped with suction cups for display. Nice touch, Lego!
