UAE Ramadan 2026: Feb 19 Start & Prayer Rules SHOCK Residents! What Will Happen?
Current Affairs 05 January 2026

The UAE is gearing up for a truly special Ramadan in 2026. Mark your calendars, because initial astronomical calculations suggest the Holy Month will commence on Thursday, February 19th. And what makes it special? A "winter Ramadan," meaning milder temperatures will grace the fasting period, making the spiritual journey a bit more comfortable.

UAE Ramadan 2026: Feb 19 Start & Prayer Rules SHOC...

Imagine breaking your fast with temperatures hovering in the pleasant range of 16°C to 28°C. Quite a contrast to the scorching summer heat we often experience here! This milder climate will hopefully allow individuals to focus more on the spiritual aspects of Ramadan, rather than battling the physical discomfort of fasting in extreme heat.

The early morning hours in cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi will take on a different feel. The usual hustle and bustle will be replaced by a serene quiet, a sense of anticipation as the day of fasting begins. Ramadan, in essence, is a societal pause button, especially in a city that never seems to sleep. It's a time to reconnect with faith, family, and community – and to remember those less fortunate.

To help residents prepare, preliminary dates are circulating. According to estimates, the first Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) will be around 5:33 AM, with Iftar (the evening meal to break the fast) around 6:18 PM on February 19th. Mid-Ramadan is expected around March 5th, and the important Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) is anticipated on March 17th. The final day of fasting is projected to be March 19th, with Eid al-Fitr tentatively scheduled to begin on Friday, March 20th. Remember, these are based on astronomical calculations, and the official start date is always subject to the sighting of the crescent moon.

Interestingly, the start of Ramadan 2026 also coincides with some new regulations regarding Friday prayers. A unified Friday prayer time of 12:45 PM has been announced, reflecting the nation's continued commitment to facilitating religious observance. These adjustments, along with the cooler temperatures, promise a particularly blessed and community-focused Ramadan in the UAE. I’m personally looking forward to this "winter Ramadan" – a chance to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the blessings we have.
