The victims have been identified as Ashaz (14), Ammar (12), Azam (8), and Ayash (5), all brothers from Kerala. Their 48-year-old domestic worker, whose name we are withholding out of respect for her family, also perished in the tragic incident. According to reports, the family was returning home after attending the Liwa Dates Festival when the accident occurred in the Shahama area. The parents, Abdul Lateef and Ruksana, along with their 10-year-old daughter, Izza, are currently hospitalized and receiving treatment for their injuries.

Details surrounding the accident are still emerging, but the initial reports paint a grim picture. Ashaz, Ammar, and Ayash reportedly died at the scene, a horrifying scene for first responders. Azam fought for his life but sadly succumbed to his injuries on Monday evening at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital. It's the kind of news that makes you stop and hold your own children a little tighter, and makes you realize how fragile life can be.

The loss is incomprehensible. I can only imagine the pain and anguish the parents must be enduring right now. The local community has rallied around the family, offering support in any way they can. Welfare groups are providing crucial assistance, ensuring the family receives the necessary hospital care and helping with the difficult task of arranging funeral services.

In accordance with the family's wishes, the four young boys will be laid to rest in the UAE, a testament to their life in that country. The domestic worker's body will be repatriated to Kerala, allowing her family to say their final goodbyes in their homeland. It’s a small comfort in the face of such overwhelming loss, but hopefully, it brings some measure of peace to the grieving families.

This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the devastating consequences of accidents. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victims during this incredibly difficult time. We can only hope that Abdul Lateef, Ruksana, and Izza make a full recovery, and that the community continues to provide the love and support they so desperately need.
