Resident Evil REQ: Jaw-Dropping 4K Trailer Just Dropped! Prepare to Be Amazed!
Gaming News 06 January 2026

Hold onto your hats, horror fans! A brand-new trailer just dropped showcasing the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem in all its terrifying, graphically-enhanced glory. And let me tell you, it looks *good*. Really good.

Resident Evil REQ: Jaw-Dropping 4K Trailer Just Dr...

The trailer, courtesy of NVIDIA, focuses on the visual fidelity the game is bringing to the table, specifically with its 4K Path Tracing and implementation of NVIDIA's DLSS 4 technology. For those not fluent in tech jargon, think incredibly realistic lighting and shadows, and super smooth performance even with all the bells and whistles cranked up. Basically, it's designed to make your eyeballs sing (or maybe scream, depending on how you handle zombie dogs).

We get to see our dual protagonists, Grace Ashcroft (new to the franchise, I believe) and the ever-reliable Leon Kennedy, battling their way through the infected hordes. The trailer deftly mixes those classic Resident Evil elements: claustrophobic corridors, jump scares, and some seriously gnarly creature designs. You can practically feel the tension oozing from the screen. And the enhanced visuals definitely amplify the horror; the way light flickers across the decaying environments, the glint in a zombie's eye… it's all incredibly immersive.

DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation, in particular, seems to be doing some serious heavy lifting. It’s promising peak performance without sacrificing visual quality, which is crucial for a game like Resident Evil where split-second reactions can mean the difference between survival and becoming zombie chow. I remember the days of tweaking graphics settings for hours just to get a playable frame rate – looks like those days might finally be behind us, thanks to tech like this. I also suspect this will come in handy on the console versions, because squeezing every drop of power out of those machines is key.

Mark your calendars, folks. Resident Evil Requiem is slated for release on February 27th, 2026. It'll be hitting PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and – surprisingly – the Nintendo Switch 2. Yes, you read that right. The Switch 2! That's some indication of the power we can expect from Nintendo's next console. I'm curious to see how the game scales down for the Switch, given all the fancy visual tech, but I have faith that the developers will pull it off. Check out the trailer yourselves, courtesy of NVIDIA on YouTube, and prepare to be terrified (and impressed).
