Chargers & Ducks: SHOCKING Upsets Incoming?! Vegas is STUNNED!
Sports 06 January 2026

Alright folks, playoff time is here, and you know what that means: chaos. After a regular season that felt like a weekly dose of unexpected twists and turns, the NFL playoffs are shaping up to be just as unpredictable. The usual suspects – Chiefs, Lions, Ravens – all have their work cut out for them. And let's not forget college football, where the stakes are even higher. It's time to put on your upset-alert goggles. And who better to guide us than Will Hill? He's got a nose for these things.

Chargers & Ducks: SHOCKING Upsets Incoming?! Vegas...

Hill's got his eye on a couple of underdogs, and frankly, I'm intrigued. Let's start with the college game: Oregon vs. Indiana. Last year, we saw Oregon dominate, only to stumble in the Playoff. Hill's wondering if they can flip the script this time around and knock out a very impressive Indiana team. Indiana, fresh off a dominant win over Alabama, already beat the Ducks earlier this season. But as any seasoned football fan knows, beating a quality team *twice* in a single season? That's a Herculean task.

The line is interesting. Oregon was favored by a touchdown in their first meeting. Now? They're getting more than a field goal. That regular season game was in Oregon, granted, but Indiana has undeniably earned a ton of respect since then. Still, let's not forget, Indiana needed some late-game heroics to squeak by some pretty average teams. A last-second TD against Penn State, a narrow escape against Iowa... it's been a close shave more than once. Some Oregon players have even admitted that the earlier loss to Indiana served as a wake-up call, a reminder that they couldn't get complacent. Maybe they were riding a little too high after that road win against Penn State. Betting against Indiana right now takes guts, I admit it, but Hill sees value in backing Oregon on Friday night. His pick: Oregon (+3.5, +140 ML) to keep it within a field goal or win outright.

Moving on to the NFL, and Hill's eyeing a potential shocker in New England. The Patriots are hosting a playoff game for the first time since January 2020. That feels like a lifetime ago, doesn't it? Back then, Brady was still slinging it in Foxborough. Now, it's a whole new era. Can the Patriots, led by Drake Maye and Coach Mike Vrabel, make a deep run? Hill isn't so sure. He thinks the Chargers, despite being underdogs, could be a real problem.

The Chargers have an elite coach-quarterback combo in Justin Herbert and Jim Harbaugh. That's a dangerous duo in any situation. Plus, their defense is ranked 10th in DVOA, a significantly better ranking than the Patriots' 23rd. The Patriots have struggled against playoff teams this season, with their only wins coming against the Panthers and the Bills way back in September and October. Now, the Chargers' offensive line has been riddled with injuries, no doubt. However, as we know, anything can happen in the playoffs.
