Hold on to your flashlights, folks! The Demogorgon isn't the only monster lurking in the fog anymore. Dead by Daylight, that deliciously terrifying asymmetrical horror game we all love (and sometimes hate when we’re being hooked repeatedly by a camping Leatherface), is officially diving back into the Upside Down. That's right, Stranger Things Chapter 2 is dropping on January 27th, and the official release date trailer just landed to whet our appetites for more interdimensional terror.
Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2 Releas...
Behaviour Interactive has really outdone themselves this time. Remember how thrilled we were when Nancy, Steve, and the Demogorgon first arrived in the Entity's realm? Well, prepare to amplify that excitement tenfold. This isn't just a rehash; it's a full-blown expansion of the Stranger Things universe within Dead by Daylight. We're talking new Survivors, a brand-new Killer ripped straight from our nightmares, and, of course, some killer (pun intended!) Legendary Outfits.
So, who’s joining the fight? Get ready to play as Eleven, with her telekinetic powers surely coming in handy when trying to escape a bloodthirsty Killer. And alongside her, we have everyone's favorite curly-haired genius, Dustin Henderson, ready to use his wit and charm (and maybe some snacks) to survive the night. But let’s be honest, the real star of the show, and the reason I’m already having trouble sleeping, is Vecna. This mind-flaying, dimension-hopping baddie is entering the fog, and I suspect he's going to make the existing Killers look like slightly grumpy toddlers. I mean, seriously, Vecna in Dead by Daylight? That's pure nightmare fuel.
But wait, there’s more! For those of us who already main Nancy, Steve, and, yes, even the occasional Demogorgon game (don’t judge!), we’re getting a whole new wardrobe to play with. Legendary Outfits are coming, transforming Nancy into the ever-sarcastic Robin Buckley, Dustin into the metalhead hero Eddie Munson, and Steve…well, Steve gets to be Jonathan Byers. Okay, maybe Jonathan isn't *quite* as exciting as Eddie, but hey, more options are always good, right? I’m personally hoping for some Eddie Munson-level gameplay from those new Dustin outfits.
The best news? You'll be able to experience this new chapter on pretty much every platform imaginable: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam). PC players can even jump into the Steam Public Test Build for an early taste of the horrors to come. Mark your calendars for January 27th. It's going to be a long, scary night in the Entity’s realm, and I, for one, can’t wait to be terrified.
