Amsterdam Doctor's Shocking Cure: Is This the Future of Healing?!

Erno Van Doesselaar isn't your typical yoga instructor. This Amsterdam native, now sun-kissed and settled in the Murcia Province of Spain, has found a unique rhythm, blending Dutch pragmatism with Spanish passion. He's a man of movement, not just physically, leading breath meditations and Yoga Nidra sessions, but also geographically, having hopped around the Netherlands before taking the plunge into international living. So, what was the siren song that lured him to the Iberian Peninsula?

"I initially visited Andalucia a couple of times," Erno explained, his accent a charming blend of Dutch and a hint of Spanish lilt creeping in. "I was really taken by the countryside, those incredibly blue lakes. Mallorca was a nice holiday, but it didn't grab me. Then, a year later, I went to Ibiza, and just... something clicked."

For Erno, Spain's allure goes deeper than just postcard-perfect landscapes. It's about connection. "One of the biggest things is the open-heartedness, the welcoming nature of the Spanish people. I love how easily you can meet someone new and have a real conversation. There's a simplicity, a warmth, a celebration of life here that's just so appealing. He draws inspiration, too, from the stunning skies above. "The amazing sunsets and sunrises just blow my mind. Nature has such a healing power; it constantly guides me to a deeper connection with myself, and that's a gift."

Of course, leaving home always involves trade-offs. "Coming from the Netherlands, I do appreciate the professional way they handle things like water drainage, roadworks, and the quality of the tap water," Erno admits with a chuckle. "But I can live without it. What I get in return, I just can't find back home, so it's more than worth it."

When it comes to his work facilitating healing through sound and yoga, Erno is refreshingly humble. "It's not about ego for me. I just feel so much joy for the people who experience that deep relaxation, that deep healing. I’m grateful to hold a safe space where they feel comfortable enough to just let it happen. Maybe it's the first time their mind has ever been truly quiet. Maybe they feel the presence of a loved one who's passed, and they can just let those emotions flow."

"People can have all kinds of experiences, and it all just happens naturally, without a specific goal. Everyone goes on their own sound journey, but we all come back to earth and ground together. It's magical, humbling, and I just love it. I think it's so important to give ourselves that space to unwind our minds on a regular basis, especially nowadays."

And would he ever consider moving back to the Netherlands for good? "Yes, maybe for a short period," he concedes. "Because I love my mother very much, and I know at some point it will be good to spend more ti"
