Exciting news from the independent film world! Norwegian director Anna Fredrikke Bjerke has wrapped production on her debut feature, a psychological drama titled "Let It Come Down," and the cast is seriously impressive. We're talking Eliza Scanlen, known for her breakout role in "Sharp Objects," alongside Edvin Ryding of "Young Royals" fame, and the always-reliable Charlie Rowe ("Jay Kelly"). It's a trio that promises a compelling on-screen dynamic.

Bjerke, who also penned the screenplay, is clearly a talent to watch. "Let It Come Down" reportedly centers on a couple's unsettling journey to a remote family home. The premise alone is enough to pique my interest; those isolated locations often breed the best kind of psychological tension.
Reinvent Yellow is handling worldwide sales, which means we'll likely get our first glimpse of the project at the upcoming European Film Market. This is a key event for Indie films, so buzz should start building pretty quickly. The supporting cast is equally strong, featuring names like Sam Hazeldine and Lisa Loven Kongsli, adding further depth to the project.
Behind the scenes, Kami Naghdi of Constance Media, along with Isabella Speaight and Molly Murphy of Backscatter Productions, are producing. Interestingly, Fremantle alumna Nastasja Borgeot is co-producing through her new venture, Average Plus Productions. It's always fascinating to see where industry veterans land, and Borgeot's involvement suggests serious belief in Bjerke's vision.
The film was shot in Scotland back in October 2025 – so the production has been kept firmly under wraps until now. Scotland's rugged landscapes are practically a character in themselves, I think, and will undoubtedly enhance the film's unsettling atmosphere. Apparently, the project was also selected for the Nordic Co-Production Market at New Nordic Films in Haugesund, which is another good sign.
Bjerke's background is certainly noteworthy. Her short films have garnered recognition at BAFTA and Oscar-qualifying festivals, she's a Vimeo Staff Pick recipient, and an alumna of some prestigious writer and director development programs. It's clear she's been honing her craft and "Let It Come Down" feels like a natural culmination of her experiences. This feels like one to keep an eye on.
The producers, Speaight and Murphy, are also making their feature debut with this project, though they've already made waves in the short film world. Their previous work, including the postpartum thriller "Wild Animal," suggests a knack for exploring complex and often unsettling themes. It seems "Let It Come Down" is in very capable hands – both in front of and behind the camera. I can’t wait to see the first trailer.
