Heat SHOCK Thunder, End 5-Game Win Streak! What Happens Next?!
Sports 18 January 2026

The Miami Heat just delivered a spicy upset, folks! They managed to cool down the Oklahoma City Thunder, edging them out 122-120 and snapping their impressive five-game winning streak. I tell you, it was a nail-biter at the Kaseya Center last night, and the Heat faithful were definitely feeling it.

Heat SHOCK Thunder, End 5-Game Win Streak! What Ha...

You could practically taste the intensity in the air. The Heat, hungry for a win after some recent stumbles, came out firing. Bam Adebayo was an absolute beast, racking up 30 points and 12 rebounds. He really controlled the paint and set the tone for the entire team. Norman Powell chipped in a solid 19 points, and rookie Pelle Larsson added a surprising 16 points, showing some real promise. It's always great to see young talent stepping up like that.

Now, don't get me wrong, the Thunder didn't just roll over. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a true MVP contender, poured in a game-high 39 points. Aaron Wiggins also contributed a respectable 18 points. But, in the end, it just wasn't enough to overcome Miami's balanced attack and sheer determination. This loss stings for the Thunder, especially as they were riding such high momentum, but hey, that's the NBA – any team can lose on any given night.

Meanwhile, over in San Antonio, another Western Conference battle was brewing. The Spurs, playing at the Frost Bank Center, pulled off a stunner of their own, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 126-123. Talk about a performance! Victor Wembanyama was simply sensational, dropping 39 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. This kid is something special, I'm telling you. De'Aaron Fox, though listed for Sacramento in my notes, actually played for the Spurs and dished out 25 points and 12 assists - impressive assist numbers. The Spurs are now sitting pretty with 29 wins and holding onto that second spot in the Western Conference standings.

Anthony Edwards went absolutely bonkers for the Timberwolves, scoring a career-high 55 points! Jaden McDaniels also added 23 points. Unfortunately for Minnesota, it wasn't enough to counteract Wembanyama's dominant performance and the Spurs' overall teamwork. The Timberwolves have now suffered their 16th loss of the season. So, two upsets in one night – definitely a wild one in the NBA!
