Garden of Witches Trailer Drops! Prepare to Be Spellbound!

Team Tapas just dropped a trailer for their new action roguelike, "Garden of Witches," and honestly, it looks pretty darn charming. Forget your typical dark and gritty roguelike – this one's got a colorful, almost whimsical vibe, but don't let that fool you, it still promises a challenge. The premise is intriguing: a once-thriving Garden is on the skids because the resident witches have gotten a little, shall we say, *lazy*.

Instead of diligently tending their magical duties, these witches have apparently decided that Netflix and chill is more appealing. The result? The Garden is suffering. That's where you, the player, come in. Your mission, should you choose to accept it (and you should, because it looks fun), is to whip these wayward witches back into shape. Think magical intervention meets tough love.

The trailer showcases some fast-paced combat, a variety of enemy types, and, crucially, glimpses of the witches themselves. Each one seems to have a distinct personality and set of skills. It’s not just about bashing heads; it seems like you’ll need to figure out how to "bring them to their senses," as Team Tapas puts it. I'm guessing this involves some clever gameplay mechanics beyond simple combat, which is a welcome change of pace for the genre.

Now, the ultimate goal isn't just to restore order to the Garden, it's to get these witches to attend a tea party. A tea party! Can you imagine the chaos (and the charm) that could ensue? Honestly, the whole concept is refreshingly original. So many roguelikes lean into grimdark settings, and while I enjoy those, it's nice to see something that embraces a lighter, more imaginative tone.

"Garden of Witches" is officially available in Steam Early Access for PC, meaning you can jump in right now and experience the magic (and the mayhem) for yourself. Early Access, of course, means the game is still in development, so expect some rough edges and potential changes as Team Tapas gathers feedback. But if you're a fan of roguelikes looking for something a little different, this one definitely deserves a look. Personally, I'm adding it to my wishlist and keeping a close eye on its development. Who knows, maybe I'll see you at the tea party!
