Iğdır FK Stuns Sakarya With Late Goal! What Will Happen Next?!
Sports 19 January 2026

Iğdır FK edged out Sakaryaspor with a narrow 1-0 victory in their Week 21 clash in the Trendyol 1. Lig. The match, played on Iğdır's home turf, delivered a hard-fought contest that ultimately saw the home side claim all three points. Honestly, these mid-season matches can be real slogs sometimes, but this one apparently had some bite.

Iğdır FK Stuns Sakarya With Late Goal! What Will H...

The lone goal of the match came courtesy of Bacuna in the 48th minute, just after the halftime break. From what I'm reading, it seems like that goal was enough to secure the win for Iğdır FK, despite Sakaryaspor's best efforts to find an equalizer. I wasn't there myself, of course, but I imagine the home crowd went wild after that one.

The game wasn't without its share of cautions either. Gökcan Kaya of Iğdır FK received a yellow card, as did Kolovetsios and Batuhan Çakır of Sakaryaspor. These types of matches often get heated, and the referee, İlker Yasin Avcı, had to keep a tight leash on things, judging by the cards issued.

Iğdır FK's starting lineup featured Muhammet Taha Tepe in goal, with a defensive setup including Tsunami (later replaced by Özder Özcan), Alperen Selvi, Oğuz Kağan Güçtekin, and Fofana (later replaced by Conte). The midfield consisted of Bacuna, Mendes, Doğan Erdoğan, Atakan Çankaya, Gökcan Kaya, and Güray Vural (later replaced by Ali Yaşar). Coach İbrahim Üzülmez clearly made some tactical adjustments throughout the match, bringing in fresh legs to maintain the pressure.

Sakaryaspor, managed by Hakan Kutlu, fielded Szumski between the posts, with a defensive line of Mete Kaan Demir (later replaced by Akuazaoku), Mirza Cihan (later replaced by Kobilar), Caner Erkin, Zwolinski, Mambenga, Serkan Yavuz, Batuhan Çakır, Salih Dursun, Alparslan Demir (later replaced by Emre Demir), and Kolovetsios. They made a couple of substitutions of their own, trying to shake things up and find that elusive goal, but it just wasn't their day.

This victory will undoubtedly give Iğdır FK a boost as they navigate the rest of the Trendyol 1. Lig season. For Sakaryaspor, it's back to the drawing board to figure out how to bounce back from this setback. I'm curious to see how these teams perform in their upcoming matches; it's a long season, and anything can happen.
