In a move that's sure to stir the pot, Jeremy Boreing, the man who helped build The Daily Wire into a conservative media juggernaut, has finally broken his silence after a near year-long departure. In an exclusive interview with Deadline, Boreing opens up about his decade-long run at the company, touching on everything from public disagreements and the perceived snub of right-wing voices at the Golden Globes, to his current passion project: a sprawling Arthurian epic dubbed *The Pendragon Cycle*.

Jeremy Boreing UNLEASHED! SHAPIRO, OWENS & Daily W...

Boreing isn't your typical Hollywood insider. Hailing from Slaton, Texas, he cut his teeth in local theater before venturing to Los Angeles in the early 2000s. He teamed up with Kurt Schemper, Joel David Moore, and a pre-Shazam! Zachary Levi to form Coattails Entertainment, producing projects like the indie drama *Spiral*. But something shifted. Boreing started questioning the direction of the industry and his place within it.

This internal struggle led to a significant career pivot. Boreing transitioned from producing to working alongside Ben Shapiro at the conservative website TruthRevolt. Then, in 2015, The Daily Wire was born. Teaming up with Shapiro and Caleb Robinson, they launched a news service that quickly exploded in popularity. Subscription models, a stable of outspoken podcasters, a relentlessly churning news site, and even branded products like razors and… chocolate? The Daily Wire found a way to weaponize and monetize the culture wars. Its rise has been meteoric; reportedly, a 2023 capital raise valued the company at over a cool billion dollars. Not bad for a couple of guys who felt out of step with Hollywood.

Deadline pressed Boreing on his initial impressions of Los Angeles when he first arrived around the turn of the millennium. "When we left in 2020," Boreing recounted, "my wife and I drove around to all of our old haunts. I told her, 'You know, I'm really going to miss this place.' And she said, 'You know, if I'm being honest, I've been missing this place for three years already.'" He paints a picture of a city that changed dramatically over two decades. While acknowledging the "infinite possibilities" Los Angeles offered, he also highlights its inherent virtue: the constant hustle and striving that permeates every aspect of life there. "Everyone works hard all the time," he says, "I think that's a real virtue of the city."

But what about the political climate? Did Boreing, with his well-known conservative convictions, feel comfortable in such a liberal bastion? "As I came to truly understand the values of the industry, politically and otherwise," he admits, "I went through a real wilderness period where I began to despair that I couldn't be who I was and be successful in the mainstream of the industry..." The rest, as they say, is history. It will be interesting to see what he does next.
