Well folks, Nintendo promised a "Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct" earlier today, and… let's just say it was concise. Seriously, blink and you probably missed it. But even though it was short and sweet, the new trailer for "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" definitely packed a punch. Why? Yoshi. That's right, everyone's favorite green dino is finally hitting the big screen.

The trailer opens with that classic "first encounter" vibe. Mario and Luigi stumble upon Yoshi, and within moments, they're basically inseparable. By the time they introduce him to Toad, it's clear a beautiful friendship is blossoming. It's cute, it's heartwarming, and it's exactly what you'd expect from a Mario Movie.

But Yoshi wasn't the only old friend (or foe) making their debut. Remember Birdo? That quirky pink character from Super Mario Bros. 2? She's back, and she's bringing her signature egg-laying attack to Princess Peach. We see a glimpse of her, and honestly, she looks like she's giving Peach a *really* hard time. Always loved Birdo, a true classic.

The trailer didn't just focus on new character reveals, though. There were plenty of fun little Easter eggs for long-time fans. Luigi, for instance, was spotted sporting the iconic frog suit from Super Mario Bros. 3. Talk about a deep cut!
