Riftbound, Riot Games' foray into the trading card game (TCG) world, is already laying out its plans for 2026, but a shadow looms over the horizon: can Riot actually keep up with demand? The League of Legends TCG launched late last year to generally positive reviews, praising its strategic gameplay and relatively easy entry point. However, accessibility has been a persistent thorn in its side.
Riftbound 2026 Schedule LEAKED! Can Riot Handle th...
Anyone who tried to snag an "Origins" starter deck during the last restock knows exactly what I’m talking about. The Riot storefront buckled under the pressure, leaving many players empty-handed and deeply frustrated. It wasn't a good look, and it needs to be addressed.
Despite these early stumbles, Riot isn't backing down. They've revealed a rather ambitious roadmap for 2026, boasting four new sets. Get ready to see cardboard versions of Azir, Draven, Ezreal, Fiora, Jax, Rumble, Rek’Sai, Ornn, Sivir, Lucian, Renata Glasc, and Irelia hitting tables soon! This influx of champions will undoubtedly shake up the meta and offer players a wealth of new deck-building possibilities.
These upcoming sets are expected to introduce fresh mechanics, expanding upon the strategic depth already present in "Origins." And it's not just new champions; fan-favorites like Vi, Master Yi, Rengar, and LeBlanc are also slated to join the "Legends" lineup, adding even more exciting options for players to build around. It’s a lot to look forward to, and we’ll keep this page updated as more details emerge.
Riot has also announced some logistical changes. The "Vendetta" set, for example, will finally unify the release schedules for China and North America. The hope here is that by the time "Vendetta" rolls around, the supply chain issues that plagued "Origins" will be resolved. Fingers crossed!
Details on the "Radiance" set are currently shrouded in mystery; all we know is the name. The community is buzzing with speculation about which Legends it will include and what new mechanics it might bring to the table. The anticipation is palpable, and as soon as we have more information, we'll be sure to share it.
But let's not forget the elephant in the room: "Origins," the launch set, *still* suffers from availability problems. Riot has promised to improve supply in the coming months, but honestly, failure to do so could seriously damage the game's long-term prospects. New players are hesitant to jump in when they can't reliably find the cards they need.
Even the "Proving Grounds" tutorial deck is commanding ridiculous prices on the secondary market, essentially gatekeeping new players from even learning the game! Preconstructed decks for Jinx, Lee Sin, and Viktor face similar challenges, although there are reports of them popping up in local game stores. As I noted around launch, it was pretty grim to see scalpers snatching up product almost immediately. The good news is that Riot is reportedly printing more, so if you can exercise patience, there will be more product available.
