Samsunspor Ready? Critical Match Could Decide Their Fate!
Sports 29 January 2026

Samsunspor is packing its bags and heading to Istanbul, fully prepped for their Week 20 Süper Lig clash against Kasımpaşa tomorrow. The team wrapped up their final training session today, a solid 70 minutes under the watchful eye of head coach Thomas Reis. The atmosphere at the Nuri Asan Facilities seemed focused, with players keen to sharpen their skills before hitting the road.

Samsunspor Ready? Critical Match Could Decide Thei...

The session kicked off with the usual warm-up jogs, getting the players' muscles primed and ready for the more intense work to come. Following that, Reis put the squad through their paces with a series of tactical drills. It’s always interesting to see how these sessions translate onto the pitch, and whether the coach's plans will come to fruition against a tricky Kasımpaşa side.

However, it wasn't all good news from the training ground. A few key players were missing from the session. Emre Kılınç, Tanguy Coulibaly, and Bedirhan Çetin were all sidelined with injuries. Those are significant absences, particularly Kılınç who's been a key figure in midfield this season. Hopefully, their injuries aren't too serious and they can return to the squad soon. Adding to the woes, Afonso Sousa trained separately from the main group, raising questions about his fitness for the match. These absences could definitely impact Reis's team selection and tactics.

With the training session complete, the team is now gearing up for their journey to Istanbul. They'll be flying out later today, allowing them to settle in and prepare for the match at Kasımpaşa’s home ground. Traveling can be taxing, so hopefully, they get a good night's rest before the game. Kasımpaşa away is never an easy fixture, and Samsunspor will need to be at their best to secure a positive result, especially given the injury concerns.

It's going to be a tough test for Samsunspor, no doubt about it. They'll need to dig deep, show resilience, and execute their game plan perfectly if they want to come away with the points. Fingers crossed they can overcome the challenges and bring home a victory. I'll be watching closely to see how things unfold tomorrow!
