It suggests they're actively considering it, which is more than enough to get the rumor mill churning. I remember when they announced the second season of "The Queen's Gambit" was just an idea and now here we are!

The news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that "Heated Rivalry" has been renewed for a second season, which, let's be honest, was a given considering how popular the first one was. Creator Jacob Tierney has already revealed to Deadline that Season 2 will be drawing inspiration from "The Long Game," the second book in the series focusing on the captivating dynamic between Ilya and Shane. For those of you who are already hooked, or planning on reading the book series, be sure to remember that Reid’s "Unrivaled" resumes the story on September 29th, so mark your calendars!

Actor Connor Storrie, one half of the titular "rivalry," has also hinted that production on the new season could kick off as early as this summer.
