Rivalry REIGNITED! Holiday Showdown Coming SOON?! Don't Miss This!
Movies & TV Series 30 January 2026

Okay, "Heated Rivalry" fans, hold onto your hats! It sounds like we might be getting a little something extra to tide us over before Season 2 hits our screens. Bell Media executive Justin Stockman has dropped a major hint about the possibility of bonus episodes, and frankly, I'm already buzzing with excitement.

Rivalry REIGNITED! Holiday Showdown Coming SOON?! ...

Speaking to the Toronto Star, Stockman, who’s the VP of content development and programming over at Bell Media, mentioned they were "going to see what's feasible" in terms of creating these bonus episodes. Now, that's not a definite "yes," but it's certainly not a "no" either, and honestly, in the world of television, that's practically a green light. It suggests they're actively considering it, which is more than enough to get the rumor mill churning. I remember when they announced the second season of "The Queen's Gambit" was just an idea and now here we are!

The news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that "Heated Rivalry" has been renewed for a second season, which, let's be honest, was a given considering how popular the first one was. Creator Jacob Tierney has already revealed to Deadline that Season 2 will be drawing inspiration from "The Long Game," the second book in the series focusing on the captivating dynamic between Ilya and Shane. For those of you who are already hooked, or planning on reading the book series, be sure to remember that Reid’s "Unrivaled" resumes the story on September 29th, so mark your calendars!

Actor Connor Storrie, one half of the titular "rivalry," has also hinted that production on the new season could kick off as early as this summer. So, while we wait for the full season, the prospect of some bonus content, possibly timed for the holidays, is definitely a welcome thought. Imagine cozying up on a cold winter night with some extra "Heated Rivalry" – sounds pretty perfect, right?

However, Stockman did add a note of caution, emphasizing that they "can’t rush the process." Which, fair enough. We want quality over quantity, and nobody wants a hastily thrown-together episode that doesn't live up to the high standards set by the first season. Plus, good things come to those who wait! It's nice to know they're dedicated to creating something worth watching, even if it means a slightly longer wait. It’s the difference between a microwaved dinner and a slow cooked roast! So, keep your eyes peeled for updates, folks. We'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as we hear anything more concrete. And in the meantime, maybe re-watch Season 1 a few times? Just to, you know, keep the rivalry fresh in your mind.
