Brady's LFG Awards SHOCKER! Player of the Year Tie?! Top Coach CHAOS!
Sports 02 February 2026

Alright folks, hold onto your helmets! While we're all gearing up for the official NFL Honors this Thursday, the GOAT himself, Tom Brady, decided to throw his own party a little early. He just unveiled his 2025 LFG Awards, and let me tell you, they're... well, they're certainly something. Brady's handing out nine awards, from the traditional stuff to some delightfully quirky categories like "Sixth Round Pick of the Year" and "Call of the Year." You gotta admire the creativity.

Brady's LFG Awards SHOCKER! Player of the Year Tie...

Brady, never one to shy away from a bit of self-aggrandizement, even joked that these awards "go up there with some of the greatest awards in award season." Okay, Tom, we see you. But hey, with seven Super Bowl rings, he's earned the right to be a little cheeky.

So, who took home the big one? While Brady stopped short of officially naming an "MVP," his "LFG Player of the Year" award pretty much serves the same purpose. And the winner is... Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford! I have to admit, I'm not totally surprised. I mean, the guy had an incredible season.

"I covered him a bunch this year. I was so impressed by what he did the entire season," Brady said about Stafford. "I think his consistency was incredible. He showed up in the biggest moments for his teammates. He made throws so few guys in the NFL could make. They did it in tough conditions... He had his main guys go down a few times... And he always found ways to produce. He had an incredible touchdown-to-interception ratio. He was absurd."

Brady makes a good point. Stafford was an absolute beast this year, leading the league in passing yards (4,707) and touchdowns (46), and powering the Rams to a 12-5 record and an NFC title game appearance. Definitely a deserving winner. Brady also gave honorable mentions to Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Buffalo Bills running back James Cook, so it wasn't all sunshine and roses for the Rams.

Speaking of Smith-Njigba, he didn't go home empty-handed! Things got a little weird when it came to the "LFG Offensive Player of the Year" award, though. Brady just couldn't pick one winner, so he gave it to multiple recipients. One of these recipients was JSN.

"Then, JSN, had a 100-plus catches, one-handed catches in the [NFC] Championship Game, big catches and touchdown catches. He was [Sam] Darnold's, I don't even want to say safety blanket. He was an explosive player. He did everything for that team in the pass game."

It sounds like Brady was really impressed with Smith-Njigba and Nacua's performance this season. All in all, it's clear Brady put some thought into these awards, even if they are a little... unconventional. I'm looking forward to seeing what other surprises he has in store for us next year. Maybe "Best Celebration Dance" will be a category? One can only hope!
