Dispatch's Second Act? Player Passion Could Power ...

## Superhero Work Comedy "Dispatch" May Get Second Season Thanks to Fan Frenzy AdHoc Studio's superhero work comedy, "Dispatch," has taken the gaming world by storm, exceeding expectations and sparking serious consideration for a second season. Released late last month, the episodic adventure game has already sold a staggering one million copies within its first ten days, fueling a wave of positive fan feedback that has caught the developers off guard. Originally conceived as a self-contained story, "Dispatch" follows the hilarious and often chaotic lives of superheroes navigating the mundane realities of office life. The game's unique blend of superhero action and workplace humor has clearly resonated with players, leading to an outpouring of support and demand for more. The overwhelming response has prompted AdHoc Studio to re-evaluate their plans. Co-founder Pierre Shorette, speaking on The Friends Per Second podcast, acknowledged the possibility of a Season 2. "I think that we're going to have to at least think about Season 2 now," Shorette stated, highlighting the unexpected shift in the studio's perspective. "That was a question mark three weeks ago, you know. So, it's a very cool problem to have." While the prospect of a second season is now on the table, AdHoc Studio already has another significant project in development. They are collaborating with Critical Role, the popular live-streamed Dungeons & Dragons show, on a video game set in the fantasy world of Exandria. According to Critical Role's Travis Willingham, the game will feature a completely new narrative, though familiar faces from the Vox Machina, Mighty Nein, and Bells Hells campaigns might make appearances. The final two episodes of "Dispatch" Season 1 are set to premiere on November 12th, promising to deliver a satisfying conclusion to the current storyline. Last week, the game reached a peak of over 131,000 concurrent players on Steam, suggesting that the finale could potentially push those numbers even higher. Whether or not "Dispatch" receives a second season remains to be seen. However, the game's undeniable success and the passionate response from its fanbase have undoubtedly made a compelling case for its continuation, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the studio's decision. The future of these superhero office workers, it seems, is now firmly in the hands of the players.
