Elon Musk's SHOCK Response to X Raid: Is This WAR?!
Movies & TV Series 04 February 2026

Elon Musk is firing back after French authorities raided X's (formerly Twitter) offices in Paris. He’s calling the move a “political attack,” and honestly, given the current climate, it's hard to completely dismiss that claim out of hand. The raid, orchestrated by France's national cyber unit with Europol lending a hand, is part of a pretty serious investigation into allegations that X is manipulating its algorithms and data feeds. They’re also looking at content generated by X's AI, Grok, which is raising some eyebrows, to say the least.

Elon Musk's SHOCK Response to X Raid: Is This WAR?...

The investigation itself kicked off in January 2025, spurred by a report from French politician Éric Bothorel. It's not just a slap on the wrist kind of thing; we're talking potential criminal offenses. Think complicity in distributing child pornography, violations of personal image rights with those creepy sexual deepfakes, even denial of crimes against humanity like Holocaust denial. And then there's the data stuff: organized fraudulent data extraction and potentially falsifying automated data processing systems. Basically, they're looking at whether X is running an illegal online platform, and that's a heavy accusation.

X's Global Government Affairs (GGA) didn't exactly take the raid lying down. They released a statement condemning it as an "abusive act of law enforcement theater designed to achieve illegitimate political objectives." Strong words, and definitely hinting at a larger battle brewing between Musk and European regulators. You have to wonder, though, if this kind of aggressive response is really the best strategy for calming things down. It often seems to just escalate things further.

Adding fuel to the fire, Musk and former X CEO Linda Yaccarino have been summoned to a public hearing in Paris on April 20th to answer questions. So far, Musk hasn't said whether he'll actually attend. That's a pretty significant decision, and frankly, his presence (or absence) will speak volumes. If he blows it off, it'll only reinforce the perception that he's dismissive of these concerns. On the other hand, a direct confrontation could be a messy PR disaster. It’s a tough call for him, and I can’t imagine he is looking forward to it.

And it's not just France. X is facing increasing scrutiny across Europe. The European Commission, California's attorney general, and UK regulator Ofcom launched a joint investigation last month. The UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is also digging into X's handling of personal data related to Grok and its potential to generate that harmful sexualized content. It feels like X is under siege from all sides. Whether these investigations will lead to real change in how X operates remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the pressure is on.
