Okay, so this is a little out there, even for Taylor Swift. News just dropped that Cillian Murphy, Domhnall Gleeson, Lewis Capaldi, and a few other familiar faces have all shown up in Swift’s brand-new music video. And the reason why is… well, it’s kind of amazing.
Taylor Swift's SHOCKING Music Video: Cillian Murph...
Apparently, the whole thing stems from a shared appearance on the BBC's *Graham Norton Show* late last year. Swift was there promoting her album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, and everyone just clicked. The lineup included Gleeson, Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Capaldi, and of course, Graham Norton himself. What could go wrong?
The key moment, it seems, was when Gleeson’s, shall we say, *unique* dance moves from *The Office* spinoff, *The Paper*, were brought up. Gleeson, being a good sport, joked about wanting to be in a Taylor Swift video someday. And that's when the magic happened. According to sources, Swift had a lightbulb moment and decided to invite everyone from that particular show to be in her next video, which turned out to be for her new single, "Opalite." You know, sometimes the best things in life are unplanned.
And now, four months later, "Opalite" has officially premiered on Spotify and Apple Music. The video’s got a pretty wild premise. Swift and Gleeson play a couple whose romance is ignited – and possibly complicated – by a magical love chemical called Opalite. Gleeson, naturally, gets to show off those dance moves. I’ve seen snippets, and let me tell you, it's something to behold.
But it doesn’t stop there. Cillian Murphy, the *Oppenheimer* star, lends his voice to a faux commercial for the Opalite product. Greta Lee and Jodie Turner-Smith (of *Tron: Ares* fame) make cameos as a singer and fitness instructor that Swift's character watches on TV. Capaldi plays a photographer who captures a shot of the couple and then, hilariously, joins them in the photo. And Graham Norton? He’s an Opalite rep handing out free samples, inadvertently throwing a wrench into Swift and Gleeson’s budding relationship. It’s all very meta and self-aware, which is kind of Swift's style these days, isn’t it?
After a massive year that included launching both her *The Life of a Showgirl* album and her Eras Tour documentary on Disney+, many expected 2026 to be a bit quieter for Swift. But it looks like she's got plenty of surprises up her sleeve. This music video is certainly proof of that. Who knows what she’ll do next?
