Škoda's EV Explosion! 1 Million Cars & a Shocking Acceleration!
Automotive 09 February 2026

Škoda Auto is riding high, announcing they’ve cranked out over a million vehicles globally in 2025, a 15% jump and the first time they’ve hit that milestone in six years. This isn't just about selling more cars; it's a pretty clear signal that their EV strategy is gaining serious traction, and that they've gotten their supply chains sorted out, at least for now. We all know how disruptive supply chain issues have been lately, so this is no small feat.

Škoda's EV Explosion! 1 Million Cars & a Shocking ...

What’s really interesting is how they’ve managed to scale up. Škoda's been strategically producing both traditional gas guzzlers (ICE vehicles, for the uninitiated) and shiny new EVs on the same production lines. This allows them to adapt quickly to changing customer preferences – a smart move in a market as volatile as the auto industry. Beyond just assembling cars, they’ve also been busy making the bits that go inside them. We’re talking over 329,000 battery systems, a million-plus transmissions, and over half a million engines. That's vertical integration at work, folks.

The electric vehicle push is really what's fueling this growth. Their main plant in Mladá Boleslav saw a nearly 5% increase in production. The real stars of the show are the all-electric Elroq, which has already seen 112,500 units roll off the line since entering production in January, and the Enyaq SUV, with around 77,000 units. The genius part? They're making these EVs right alongside their gasoline-powered Fabias, Scalas, Octavias, and Kamiqs. Talk about maximizing efficiency!

But it's not just one plant carrying the load. The Kvasiny plant is also contributing heavily, upping production of the Kodiaq, Octavia, and Karoq by 21%. The Kodiaq SUV, in particular, is flying off the shelves. In fact, the millionth Kodiaq recently rolled off the Kvasiny assembly line. This underscores the growing popularity of SUVs, a trend we've been seeing across the board for years now.

Škoda isn't just concentrating on Europe either. They've opened a new plant in Vietnam to produce the Slavia and Kushaq, marking their first foray into the ASEAN market. And India is quickly becoming a major production hub for them, with production up a whopping 125% to nearly 74,000 units. They're even cranking out their Kylaq SUV there. They also continue production at plants in Slovakia, China, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan – truly a global operation.

Looking ahead, Škoda is doubling down on electrification, expanding its global production network, and trying to crack new markets. They're betting that EV demand will continue its upward trajectory and that their battery and component production will help boost their profit margins. It's a bold strategy, but based on these numbers, it seems to be paying off. The fact that Škoda can adapt quickly shows the importance of planning and agility in the marketplace. I suspect it will be a long-term advantage.
