Kash Patel Drops BOMBSHELL: Is This the Key to the Guthrie Case?!
Current Affairs 10 February 2026

The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC's Savannah Guthrie, has taken a dramatic turn with the release of new images and video footage by former FBI Director Kash Patel. Guthrie vanished from her Tucson-area home on February 1st, and her daughter's plea, "We believe she is still alive. Bring her home," continues to resonate as the investigation intensifies.

Kash Patel Drops BOMBSHELL: Is This the Key to the...

Patel's release focuses on what he describes as an "armed individual" allegedly linked to Guthrie's disappearance. The disturbing images show a masked figure, wearing gloves and a backpack, standing at the front door of Guthrie's residence. Crucially, the figure is armed with what appears to be a holstered handgun. The timing, authorities believe, places this individual at the scene around the time Nancy Guthrie was reportedly abducted. It's pretty chilling to see those images; they definitely paint a picture of premeditation.

“Law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance,” Patel stated. The discovery of this footage, previously hidden in the system's backend, represents a significant breakthrough, offering potentially crucial clues about the circumstances surrounding Guthrie's abduction.

Adding another layer to this complex case is the ransom demand. After Nancy's disappearance, the family received a bitcoin ransom demand with a Monday deadline. While the deadline has passed, the family, including Savannah Guthrie, has expressed their willingness to cooperate fully to ensure their mother's safe return. It's unimaginable what they must be going through.

According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, the timeline of events is as follows: Guthrie's doorbell camera disconnected at 1:47 a.m. on February 1st. Then, at 2:12 a.m., the camera software detected a person. Shortly after, at 2:28 a.m., Nancy Guthrie's pacemaker app disconnected from her phone, which was left behind at the house. This timeline, coupled with the new video evidence, suggests a calculated and swift operation.

The FBI has stated that they are deploying additional personnel to Arizona to assist in the investigation. "The FBI is not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers, nor have we identified a suspect or person of interest in this case at this time," the bureau said. Despite the lack of identified suspects, the bureau assures the public that agents are "working tirelessly" on the case and operating a 24-hour command post.

The entire situation is heartbreaking, and one can only hope that Nancy Guthrie is found safe and sound. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a positive resolution.
