Oblivion Remastered! 30 Mods That Will SHOCK You!
Gaming News 12 February 2026

Okay, let's talk Oblivion Remastered. It's shiny, it's new(ish), and it’s brought that old Cyrodiil charm back to life. But let's be honest, the vanilla experience, while nostalgic, can be a little...lacking. Thankfully, the PC modding community is already hard at work, and though Bethesda didn't give us official mod support *right away*, that hasn't stopped dedicated fans from making this game even better.

Oblivion Remastered! 30 Mods That Will SHOCK You!

Since the remaster dropped, Nexus Mods has been absolutely buzzing. New mods are popping up almost daily, from complete overhauls to simple quality-of-life improvements. And that’s what we’re focusing on today: 30 of the best mods currently available to elevate your Oblivion Remastered experience. Now, this isn't a definitive 'best-of' list, mind you, more like a curated selection of mods that address some of the game's more...persnickety aspects. We’ll cover a range of categories, and they're in no particular order.

Before we dive in, though, if you're not familiar with how to install mods in Oblivion Remastered, you might want to check out a guide first. There are a few good ones out there, so do a little research to make sure you're using a tool that feels good to you.

First up, we've got **Ultimate Engine Tweaks** by VP40L0. This is a must-have for pretty much *any* Bethesda RPG, and Oblivion Remastered is no exception. It optimizes the game engine to reduce stuttering, improve latency, and generally boost performance. It's the kind of mod that just makes everything feel smoother and more responsive, without sacrificing any visual fidelity. Trust me, it's worth it.

Next, we have two mods from Erok: **Carry Weight Modifier** and **No Item Degradation**. Carry Weight Modifier is, as you might guess, allows players to significantly alter how much items weigh. Apparently, it's a little quirky in Oblivion Remastered, giving lockpicks negative weight. Hey, whatever works, right? No Item Degradation is another lifesaver. No more constantly repairing your gear! It means fewer trips to the blacksmith and more time exploring Cyrodiil. Do keep in mind however that enchantment degradation still applies so you'll still need Soul Gems.

If you're finding the difficulty curve a bit steep, especially on higher settings, then **Difficulty Slider Fixed** by IxionXVII is your friend. Instead of those rigid difficulty levels, it gives you a slider so you can fine-tune the game to your liking. Make Master difficulty *actually* feel balanced. Speaking of inventory management, **Weightless Alchemy and Misc. Items** by Exalderan is another great option. It makes things like arrows, potions, and books weightless, so you can hoard all the loot you want. Who *doesn't* want to be an alchemist with an endless supply of ingredients?

Finally, because it's always a good idea, we have **Richer Vendors** by Erok. This one addresses the age-old problem of vendors never having enough gold to buy your hard-earned loot. With this mod, they'll have a bit more coin to spend, making trading a much more lucrative experience. After all, what's the point of finding all those rare artifacts if you can't actually sell them for a decent price?
