Israel's Yes Studios, the powerhouse behind international sensations like *Fauda* and *Your Honor*, is making its grand entrance at the London TV Screenings this month. And from what I'm hearing, the buzz is already building. With the Screenings poised for a record-breaking year, all eyes will be on Yes as they unveil a diverse and intriguing slate of new scripted dramas and comedies.
Yes Studios' 'Brewing Trouble'? What Happens Next ...
What's on offer? Well, it sounds like there's something for everyone. The lineup includes the character-driven comedy *Brewing Trouble*, which, let's be honest, the title alone has me intrigued. Then there's *Strangers*, a novel adaptation that sounds like it could be a real gem. Rounding out the slate are the airport-based comedy-drama *On Standby*, the darkly comedic *Little Fucker* (okay, that's definitely going to grab attention!), and the second season of the romantic comedy series *Bloody Murray*. Quite the variety, right?
And there's more! Yes Studios is also showcasing *Children in the Woods*, a psychological thriller produced in collaboration with No Drama Studios. I'm a sucker for a good thriller, so that's definitely one I'll be keeping an eye on.
Let's dig a little deeper into *Strangers*. This six-part series is based on Lihi Lapid's novel, *On Her Own*, and Lapid herself co-wrote the series with Zion Rubin. The premise is captivating: a woman feeling lost and unfulfilled finds herself in a writing class and rediscovers her humor, dreams, and even the possibility of love. We've all been there, right? That feeling of being stuck and searching for something more. Gitit Fisher is the creator, and with Yes TV and Yoav Gross Productions attached, it seems like this project has a solid foundation. I'm genuinely curious to see how they translate the novel to the screen.
"The London TV Screenings has evolved into a crucial event for distributors and buyers, providing us with a fantastic platform to highlight the scope and depth of our current and forthcoming content," said Sharon Levi, Managing Director of Yes Studios. And she's right. The Screenings are a vital opportunity for studios to showcase their work and connect with the industry's key players.
The London TV Screenings kick off on Sunday, February 22nd, and run through Friday, February 27th. Yes Studios' screening is scheduled for Monday at 2:30 PM. MIP London, running concurrently from February 22nd to 24th, will add even more buzz to the week. It's going to be a busy and exciting week for the TV industry, and Yes Studios is definitely one to watch.
