Release Date DELAYED AGAIN?! Fans Stunned, What Now?
Tech Product Reviews 18 February 2026

Cyberpunk fans, brace yourselves: Sad Cat Studios has just announced another delay for their highly anticipated 2.5D action platformer, "Replaced." And this one stings a bit, coming just three weeks shy of its previously announced release date.

Release Date DELAYED AGAIN?! Fans Stunned, What No...

Now, before everyone grabs their pitchforks, the studio is framing this as a positive, attributing the delay to the overwhelmingly positive response to the game's recent Steam demo. According to Sad Cat, all that enthusiasm is being channeled into some final tweaks and polishing to ensure the full game lives up to the hype. "The response to our Steam demo has been the ultimate fuel for us," they stated. "To be honest, putting it out there was nerve-wracking, but seeing your gameplay, reading your reviews and hearing your excitement has been overwhelming in the best way possible. We are constantly reading your comments, and that feedback is helping us make the final tweaks that will make the full game shine." It's a common trope, I know, but sometimes these things do genuinely lead to a better product.

It's hard to deny that "Replaced" has generated quite a buzz. The game's distinctive, gritty cyberpunk aesthetic and promise of a narrative-driven experience have certainly caught the eye of many. I've been keeping tabs on this one myself for a while, and honestly, the trailers alone are enough to get you hyped. But it is the immersive atmosphere that seems to be drawing people in. I've seen plenty of comments praising the unique visual style and detailed world-building.

And it's not just the fans who are excited. Critics who've had hands-on time with early builds are singing its praises too. IGN's Tom Phillips, for instance, went hands-on earlier this month, highlighting the game's strong "Blade Runner" influences and immersive tone. He even admitted that the game surprised him, which is always a good sign. "No matter what you’re tasked with doing, it seems as if Replaced never loses sight of its slick style and rich tone grounded in a love for all things Blade Runner, all while letting that reverence permeate into every aspect of its design in interesting ways," Phillips wrote. "I started my playthrough thinking I knew exactly what I was in for. I was wrong, but thankfully still ended it excited, knowing there’s still plenty left to discover."

Of course, delays are never ideal, but if it means a more polished and ultimately more enjoyable experience, then maybe it's a necessary evil. In the meantime, if you're curious to see what all the fuss is about, the Steam demo for "Replaced" is still available. So, go ahead, give it a shot and see if it lives up to the hype. Hopefully, this extra time will allow Sad Cat Studios to deliver a truly unforgettable cyberpunk adventure.
