Night Agent Season 3 SHOCK! Star Gone – Will She Return?!

It's the question on every *Night Agent* fan's mind: where's Rose? Luciane Buchanan, who so compellingly played Rose Larkin alongside Gabriel Basso's Peter Sutherland for two seasons, wasn't asked back for Season 3 of the hit Netflix thriller. And, understandably, fans are feeling the sting. But before you swear off the show entirely, let's dive into what showrunner Shawn Ryan has to say about it – and whether there's hope for a Rose return.

Night Agent Season 3 SHOCK! Star Gone – Will She R...

For those just tuning in, the core of the first two seasons was the undeniable chemistry and partnership between Peter, a low-level FBI agent thrust into a dangerous conspiracy, and Rose, a tech entrepreneur with a complicated past. Their dynamic was a huge part of the show's appeal. Season 3 sees Peter partnered with a new character, Isabel (Genesis Rodriguez), a financial reporter whose own family secrets become intertwined with Peter's mission. It's a shakeup, no doubt, but Ryan insists it's all in service of the story.

“Yeah, I know it’s a topic,” Ryan admitted, addressing the outcry over Buchanan's departure. “I don’t mind answering it, because my answer has always been consistent. I love Luciane and I’d love to see Rose on the show again at some point. This was the best story that we felt we could tell.” So, while Rose is physically absent, the writers seem to be working hard to make sure she's not forgotten. The season opener even hints at Peter actively trying to protect her by keeping his distance. This, of course, only adds to the angst.

Interestingly, while Rose doesn’t appear on screen, her name does surface a couple of times. Deputy Director Aiden Mosely inquires about Peter's contact with her, and later, the villainous Jacob Monroe uses Rose as leverage, threatening her safety if Peter doesn't comply. Talk about raising the stakes! It's a testament to the impact Rose made that she can still be a significant motivating factor even when off-screen.

Ryan emphasized that Rose's influence on Peter is still very much present. "Rose might not be present physically, but she is a presence mentally," he explained. "She was a very significant person for Peter, and I don’t think that he’s the kind of person that just forgets things and moves on." It seems Peter is carrying the lessons he learned from Rose into his new challenges. And the good news? Ryan hasn't ruled out a return. "She might be back in Season 4. Chelsea came back for Season 3.” So, hold onto that hope, *Night Agent* fans. Rose might not be gone forever.
