Well folks, it's official. Dust off your cowboy boots and get ready for a tearjerker (again!), because the "Toy Story" gang is saddling up for another adventure. The trailer for "Toy Story 5" just dropped, and let me tell you, it's got me feeling all kinds of nostalgic... and slightly concerned for our plastic pals.
Toy Story 5 Trailer: Woody's Return...But at What ...
Scheduled to hit theaters June 19, 2026 (mark your calendars!), the fifth installment seems to be tackling a theme that's increasingly relevant in our own lives: the battle between the analog and the digital. Remember when your biggest worry as a toy was getting lost under the couch? Those days are *long* gone. This time, the toys are facing off against the cold, calculating dominance of… technology. Specifically, a new tablet in Bonnie's house called Lilypad. Yep, even playtime isn't safe from screen time these days.
The trailer itself gives us a peek into Bonnie's, shall we say, *unique* imagination. We're talking Forky tying the knot with a plastic knife named Karen Beverly. Jessie's doing the honors, uttering the unforgettable line, "I now pronounce you husband and knife." It's a far cry from Andy's more straightforward play scenarios, which really highlights how kids' imaginations are evolving – or perhaps being influenced – by, well, everything.
But wait, there's more! A whole new cast of characters is joining the toy box. We've got Craig Robinson lending his voice to Atlas, a GPS hippo (that sounds… helpful, actually), Shelby Rabara as Snappy, an excitable camera toy (prepare for some shaky cam!), and Scarlett Spears and Mykal-Michelle Harris as Bonnie and Blaze, two of Bonnie's friends. And because no movie is complete without a dash of the absurd, Matty Matheson is voicing Dr. Nutcase, a tech-averse toy. I can already see the memes coming. Good news for Canadian daredevil fans, Keanu Reeves is reprising his role as Duke Caboom, so expect more gravity-defying stunts and perfectly timed one-liners.
Honestly, the trailer left me with more questions than answers. Will Woody fully embrace his role as a leader in this new, tech-saturated world? How will the toys adapt to Lilypad's influence on Bonnie's playtime? And most importantly, will I need a whole box of tissues for this one? I'm betting on "yes" to all of the above.

Happy viewing, folks! And maybe go hug your favorite toy. You never know when they might need you to fight off a rogue tablet.
