Bad Bunny absolutely cleaned up at the Premio Lo Nuestro 2026 awards ceremony. I mean, *dominated*. The Puerto Rican megastar walked away with a staggering six awards, including the night's biggest accolades: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year. Considering he just slayed the Super Bowl Halftime Show, you could say 2026 is already shaping up to be a pretty good year for him. The gala, hosted by the fabulous Thalia, Nadia Ferreira, and Clarissa Molina, was a who's who of Latin music royalty, but let's face it, everyone was there to see if Benito (Bad Bunny's real name, for the uninitiated) would sweep the floor, and boy, did he.

Beyond the top prizes, Bad Bunny also snagged Urban Male Artist of the Year, solidifying his reign in the urban music scene. His track "DTMF" also secured the Pop/Urban Song of the Year title. I have to admit, I'm not surprised. That song's been stuck in my head for months! It's got that infectious beat and those clever lyrics that just get under your skin in the best way possible.
But Bad Bunny wasn't the only one celebrating. Carín León had a stellar night too, racking up five awards. His "Lost In Translation" collaboration with Kacey Musgraves took home Crossover Collaboration of the Year, which, honestly, is a pretty cool pairing. It just shows how Latin music is breaking down those genre barriers and reaching a wider audience than ever before. León also won Pop/Rock Song of the Year for “Vivir Sin Aire,” Mexican Music Male Artist of the Year, Mexican Music Song of the Year for “El Amor de Mi Herida,” and Mexican Music Collaboration of the Year for his song “Si Tú Me Vieras” with Maluma. That's a serious haul!
Of course, plenty of other talented artists got their due as well. Karol G, Maluma, Yuridia, Cazzu, Feid, Julión Álvarez y su Norteño Banda, Majo Aguilar, Natti Natasha, and Shakira all took home multiple awards. It’s great to see such a diverse range of talent being recognized. I think it speaks volumes about the vibrancy and evolution of Latin music. It's not just one sound; it's a whole melting pot of genres and influences. And it's getting bigger and bigger every year.
And then there were the Special Awards, always a highlight. Arcángel was rightfully honored as an Urban Icon, and Juanes received the Lifetime Achievement Award – well deserved, if you ask me. Los Bukis were recognized for their Musical Legacy, Manolo Díaz for his Visionary contributions, and Paloma San Basilio was presented with the Award for Excellence. These awards acknowledge the artists who have not only created great music but have also paved the way for future generations and left an indelible mark on the culture. It’s moments like these that remind you why awards shows, despite all the glitz and glamour, can actually be meaningful.
