Sharma's background is primarily in AI, and naturally, this stoked fears that Microsoft might be planning to heavily invest in AI-driven game development, potentially at the expense of human jobs. It's a reasonable concern, honestly. AI is definitely the buzzword of the moment, and businesses are eager to see how it can streamline processes... which often translates to workforce reductions.

Booty's statement, “To be clear, there are no organizational changes underway for our studios,” is a pretty direct denial. But let's be honest, "no organizational changes underway" is a phrase that can be open to interpretation. It doesn't necessarily mean there won't be smaller-scale adjustments or shifts in project priorities. It just means there isn't currently a large-scale restructuring plan being implemented.
