Arc Raiders Grenade NERFED! Players Furious - Is This the End of PvE?
Gaming News 25 February 2026

The "Arc Raiders" community is in a full-blown uproar right now, and it's not because of some game-breaking bug. Nope, this time it's a classic case of "devs nerfing something players love," and the internet's reaction is exactly what you'd expect. The target of their ire? The recent "Shrouded Sky" update and its less-than-popular changes to the Wolfpack grenade, a PvE staple for many.

Arc Raiders Grenade NERFED! Players Furious - Is T...

Essentially, Embark Studios decided to tweak the crafting recipe for the Wolfpack. This thing wasn't just *good*, it was *essential* for taking down some of the tougher Arc enemies. Now, according to the patch notes, crafting a single Wolfpack grenade requires a Rocketeer Driver. If you're not familiar with Arc Raiders, these things are *rare*. Like, frustratingly rare. Previously, all you needed were Arc motion cores and some explosive compound. Seems reasonable, right?

That's where the problem lies. These Rocketeer Drivers are a pain to get. The most reliable way, ironically, is to take down Rocketeers... often *with* Wolfpacks. You see the problem, right? It’s a bit of a chicken-and-egg situation. The new crafting requirement has been coupled with broader adjustments to resource requirements; now Arc components are also needed to craft the Deadline mine, Trailblazer, Showstopper, and Vita Spray. As if things weren't grindy enough.

The online reaction has been predictably… explosive. One Reddit user summed it up perfectly: "Let me just kill a rocketeer to get 1 wolfpack that can half kill another rocketeer." The sarcasm is palpable. I saw another player comment, "I don’t even want the blueprint anymore," which really hits the nail on the head. People are genuinely turned off by this change.

Over on X/Twitter, one user voiced concerns about the long-term impact: "First time I’ve said this but if they keep going in this direction people will stop playing. It’s hard enough to gather some of these resources." And honestly, I can see their point. The game already has a bit of a grind to it, and this just makes things feel even more tedious.

The community isn't just complaining, though; they're also offering solutions. One player suggested, "If rocketeers start consistently dropping more than 1x driver, we can talk," which is a pretty sensible idea. Another added, "They need to up the drop odds on drivers. Right now you’re lucky if you get two. Make two the base with higher odds of 3+. Otherwise wolfpacks will basically just be used when looted on the map." That would definitely alleviate some of the frustration.

It will be interesting to see how Embark Studios responds to this. They're generally pretty good about listening to player feedback, so hopefully they'll make some adjustments to the drop rates or crafting requirements soon. In the meantime, Arc Raiders players will be desperately hunting Rocketeers, hoping for that precious Rocketeer Driver. Good luck out there, Raiders. You'll need it.
