Clinton GRILLS: House Committee SHOCK Hearing on Epstein!

Clinton GRILLS: House Committee SHOCK Hearing on Epstein!
Current Affairs 27 February 2026

Former President Bill Clinton is heading to Capitol Hill, albeit behind closed doors. He's scheduled to give a deposition to the House Oversight Committee on Friday, as part of their ongoing probe into the Jeffrey Epstein saga. This comes hot on the heels of Hillary Clinton's deposition yesterday, marking a pretty intense week for the couple in relation to this investigation.

Clinton GRILLS: House Committee SHOCK Hearing on E...

Hillary Clinton, during her Thursday testimony, stated unequivocally that she didn't know Epstein, couldn't recall ever meeting him, and absolutely never set foot on his infamous island, in his home, or even his office. She didn't exactly seem thrilled to be there, either, suggesting the Republican-led committee could've used their time more effectively if they were actually interested in investigating *the investigations* themselves. A bit of a jab, if you ask me.

Now, it's crucial to remember that neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton have been accused of any wrongdoing directly related to Epstein's crimes, and both have consistently denied any knowledge of his abhorrent activities. It’s also worth noting that so far, no Epstein survivor or associate has publicly accused either of them of inappropriate behavior stemming from their relationship with the deceased financier. That said, the optics of a former president and secretary of state being questioned in connection with Epstein are, well, not great.

The connection between Bill Clinton and Epstein goes back a ways, first surfacing publicly around 2002. Reports detailed the former president's travels on Epstein's jet, allegedly for a humanitarian mission across several African nations. At the time, Clinton, through a spokesperson, described Epstein as "both a highly successful financier and a committed philanthropist" to New York Magazine. That quote, in retrospect, hasn't aged particularly well.

Interestingly, Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's convicted co-conspirator currently serving a 20-year sentence, has claimed that *she*, not Epstein, was the one who fostered a friendship with Bill Clinton. In a recorded interview last year, Maxwell even stated she suggested and organized Clinton's trips on Epstein's plane. It's a murky situation, to say the least, and everyone seems to have a slightly different version of events.

Initially, the Clintons were subpoenaed to testify under oath back in January, but they initially refused, citing a lack of legal merit in the subpoenas. They then proposed a four-hour transcribed interview as an alternative. Their lawyer, David Kendall, argued that the couple simply doesn't possess any relevant information regarding the committee's investigation into the federal government's handling of the Epstein and Maxwell cases. He believes they should be allowed to provide their limited knowledge in writing. We'll see if Bill Clinton's deposition sheds any new light on this complicated relationship – and the broader, deeply unsettling Epstein story.
