Iran Vows REVENGE! Will Trump's Warning Stop All-Out War?!
Current Affairs 01 March 2026

TEHRAN - The Middle East is teetering on the brink, folks. Iranian officials, still reeling from the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have vowed revenge. Khamenei, you’ll remember, was killed in what they're calling a joint US and Israeli strike. The response? A very loud and clear declaration of war, and a promise of attacks on US bases in the Gulf. And this is despite President Trump's very Trump-like promise of "unprecedented" retaliation if they do.

Iran Vows REVENGE! Will Trump's Warning Stop All-O...

Chaos is the only word for it. As enormous crowds gathered in Tehran – you can only imagine the tension – explosions rocked the city. If that wasn’t enough, the Israeli military announced *more* strikes on targets in the Iranian capital. And it wasn’t just Tehran. Reports are flooding in of blasts in Jerusalem, Riyadh, Dubai, Doha, and Manama. It's a domino effect of destruction, and frankly, terrifying.

President Masoud Pezeshkian (I had to look up how to spell that correctly – forgive me!), condemned the killing as “a declaration of war against Muslims." Strong words, to say the least. He insists Iran has a “legitimate duty and right” to avenge Khamenei's death. Ali Larijani, head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, echoed that sentiment, promising to inflict an “unforgettable lesson” on their adversaries. Larijani even took a page out of Trump’s playbook, warning in a social media post that Iran will hit the US and Israel “with a force that they have never experienced before.” It's almost a mirror image of Trump's own hyperbolic style. A grim game of one-upmanship, if you ask me.

An AFP journalist on the ground reported blasts in northern Tehran, seeing smoke rising from what seems to be a targeted building. While initial reports of Khamenei's death actually sparked celebrations among some Iranians (a fact often overlooked), state media's confirmation swiftly triggered pro-government demonstrations. The chants of "Death to America!" are, sadly, all too familiar.

The situation is escalating rapidly. As crowds demand revenge and the Iranian army announces strikes targeting US bases in the Gulf and Iraqi Kurdistan, Trump is upping the ante. He’s threatening to unleash “force that has never been seen before” and even urging the Iranian people to rise up and take power. It's a high-stakes gamble, and the consequences could be catastrophic.

Iran’s initial retaliatory strikes on Saturday targeted almost all Gulf states, except Oman, who had been trying to mediate US-Iran talks. It seems even Oman isn't immune now; their commercial port of Duqm was struck by two drones on Sunday. A foreign worker was injured, according to the Oman News Agency, and a tanker off the Omani coast was reportedly hit. It’s spreading like wildfire. The US and Israeli strikes that killed Khamenei, and others, have sparked outrage that's now spilling into neighboring Iraq and Pakistan. Protesters have even tried to storm US diplomatic missions.

In Karachi, Pakistan, at least eight people were killed during pro-Iran protests at the US consulate. The Iranian Red Crescent is reporting over 200 deaths and hundreds of injuries from the strikes *inside* Iran. The human cost is already staggering. What happens next is anyone’s guess, but one thing is clear: the world is holding its breath.
