The Princess of Wales proved her down-to-earth charm and surprisingly adept culinary skills during a series of engagements in London today. Alongside Prince William, she navigated Borough Market and Bermondsey Beer Mile, showcasing a stylish, practical ensemble perfect for a day of foodie adventures.
Princess' Bold Outfit Choice Stuns London: What Do...
Their first stop was the famed Borough Market, a sensory explosion of sights, smells, and tastes. I've been there myself on many occasions, and it's always a delightful chaos. The royal couple headed straight for Trethowan Brothers cheesemakers, purveyors of the most divine Pitchfork Cheddar. Imagine, the future King and Queen slicing cheese! I have to admit, the photos are delightful.
Apparently, the Princess and Prince are quite the cheese aficionados. Mr. Trethowan himself revealed they were "big cheese fans," and their excitement upon receiving a takeaway of cheese and chutney was genuinely sweet. And get this – he even complimented their cheese-cutting skills, calling them "natural." Who knew royal blood translated to cheese-slicing prowess?
From cheese, it was on to coffee. They visited Change Please, a truly inspiring social enterprise that empowers individuals experiencing homelessness. It’s fantastic to see Prince William's Homewards programme supporting such important initiatives. But the real highlight was Princess Kate's attempt at barista work. After a quick lesson, she crafted a coffee for William, proudly announcing it wasn't decaf. Bless his heart, he politely declined, suggesting the stallholders sell it. A true diplomat, that one!
Next up: dessert! Humble Crumble was their final foodie stop, and it looked like the most fun of all. Prince William took charge of the fruit and crumble pudding, while Princess Kate showed off some serious decorating skills, piping marshmallow fluff and sprinkling toppings with professional precision. The company's chief executive joked they'd easily pass a trial shift, and founder Kim Innes raved about the Princess’s piping, claiming she could teach the team. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if she started a side hustle in pastry decorating!
After Borough Market, they ventured onto Bermondsey Beer Mile. You know, I've always meant to check that place out. Their final stop was Southwark Brewing Company, where Princess Kate, donning gloves and climbing a ladder, actually stirred beer in a large vat. "Wow, look at that," she exclaimed, a touch of genuine awe in her voice. It’s refreshing to see members of the Royal Family so engaged and willing to get their hands dirty, literally!
