Hytale's Flame Rekindled? Co-Founder's Bold Push I...

## Hytale Co-Founder Mounts Valiant Effort to Resurrect Canceled Game, Shares 16 Minutes of New Footage Well, folks, color me surprised! After Riot Games unceremoniously shelved Hytale, the Minecraft-inspired sandbox game that had the gaming community buzzing for years, it looked like curtains. I, along with many others, figured that was the end of the story. But sometimes, against all odds, a spark can reignite. It seems the original co-founder of Hypixel, the team behind the project, isn’t ready to let Hytale die. In a surprising turn of events, Riot Games, who acquired the studio back in 2020, has sold the rights to Hytale back to Simon Collins-Laflamme! Yes, you read that right. This is a genuine second chance for a game that had so much potential. Riot stated that after exploring various options, they felt this move “gives players the best chance to one day experience a revised version of the game they've been waiting for.” A pretty magnanimous statement, if you ask me. It suggests Riot recognized that their vision for Hytale might not have aligned with what the community wanted, and handing the reins back to the original creator was the best way forward. To add fuel to the hype fire, Collins-Laflamme has released a whopping 16 minutes of new gameplay footage. Talk about throwing down the gauntlet! The trailer offers a glimpse into the current state of the game, and while it’s still early days, it’s undoubtedly a welcome sight for those who’ve been holding out hope. For those who might be a bit late to the party, Hytale was initially announced back in December 2018 with a trailer that’s now racked up a staggering 61 million views on YouTube. The hype was real, driven in part by the pedigree of the developers at Hypixel, renowned for running one of the most influential Minecraft servers in the world. The big question now is, can Collins-Laflamme and his team pull it off? Can they deliver on the promise that Hytale held way back when? He's certainly got a mountain to climb to "break the curse once and for all," as some are putting it. But the determination is there, and the early talk of an early access release offers a concrete, achievable goal. We'll be watching with bated breath to see how this unfolds. Maybe, just maybe, Hytale's story isn't over just yet.
