Miss Universe Judge Dumps Gown and Gloom, Claims Pageant Rigged!
Okay, folks, drama alert! Just when you thought the world of beauty pageants couldn't get any more…well, pageant-y, the Miss Universe 2025 competition has delivered a plot twist worthy of a telenovela. A judge, none other than Omar Harfouch, has dramatically quit just days before the big show, alleging the finalists were pre-selected by a shady "impromptu jury."
Miss Universe Shakeup: Judge Alleges Rigged Contes...
Harfouch didn't mince words. In a public statement, he warned “all past and current judges” that their “participation in the final jury of Miss Universe may legally implicate them in an act of global-scale fraud.” That's some serious shade, if you ask me.
He claims he discovered, via *social
He claims he discovered, via *social media* of all places, that a secret jury was formed to pick the top 30 contestants from the pool of 136 hopefuls. Apparently, this jury operated without the input of the official judges, and Harfouch alleges it was riddled with conflicts of interest. He even suggested the person responsible for counting the votes had personal relationships with some of the contestants! Yikes.
Adding a touch of artistic flair to the drama, Harfouch also declared he would no longer allow his music to be played at the event. Talk about a mic drop!
Now, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) isn’t taking these accusations lying down. They've released a statement of their own, attempting to clear the air and throwing some serious side-eye in Harfouch's direction. They claim his statements are inaccurate and relate to something called the "Beyond the Crown Program," an independent social impact initiative that, according to them, is entirely separate from the actual judging process. They've basically accused him of confusing the two.
But that's not all
But that's not all. The MUO is clearly furious. They’ve banned Harfouch from using any Miss Universe branding and threatened legal action if he doesn't comply. Ouch.
Harfouch, however, seems undeterred. He's doubled down, listing potential issues under review as “fraud, abuse of power, corruption, deception, breach of contract, conflict of interest, and emotional and reputational damages." It’s a laundry list of legal nastiness, to say the least.
So, what's the truth? Is this a case of a disgruntled judge blowing things out of proportion, or is there something truly rotten in the state of Miss Universe? It's hard to say for sure. But one thing's certain: this controversy has added a whole new layer of intrigue to an already glamorous (and often scrutinized) competition. It’ll be interesting to see how this all unfolds, and whether we see any courtroom drama alongside the tiaras and evening gowns. Stay tuned, folks, because this story is far from over.
