Porsche's Heaviest Beast EVER? The Cayenne Turbo Electric SHOCKS!
Automotive 20 November 2025

Porsche just dropped a bombshell, and it's electrified. The new Cayenne Turbo Electric is here, and it's packing some serious heat – 1,156 horsepower and a mind-bending 1,500 Nm of torque, to be exact. That officially makes it the most powerful Porsche *ever* made. But there's a twist, a heavy one, literally.

Porsche's Heaviest Beast EVER? The Cayenne Turbo E...

Believe it or not, this electric beast tips the scales at a hefty 2,645 kg (5,831 lbs). That's right, the Cayenne Turbo Electric has also snagged the title of the heaviest Porsche in history. I mean, we knew electrification added weight, but this is something else.

Previously, that dubious honor belonged to the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe, clocking in at 2,595 kg. So, Porsche managed to add another 50 kg to the already substantial figure. Where's all that weight coming from? Well, the culprit is primarily the massive battery pack. Reportedly, it alone weighs around 600 kilograms. Let that sink in.

To put that into perspective, this single battery pack weighs almost as much as the entire Porsche 356 SL that won Le Mans back in 1951! Think about that for a second. The technology is incredible, sure, but the sheer mass is… staggering. You have to wonder about the impact on handling, even with all the fancy electronic wizardry Porsche undoubtedly baked in.

Now, to be fair, the Cayenne Electric isn't the absolute heaviest electric SUV out there. The electric Mercedes G-Class and, particularly, the Cadillac Escalade IQ are significantly heavier. The Escalade IQ is on a whole other level, weighing in at a mind-boggling 4,143 kg. Yikes! Still, Porsche setting a weight record *within its own lineup* is a bit of a surprise.

And here's the kicker: this probably isn't the end of the line for Porsche's weight records. The company is also developing a new three-row, seven-seat electric SUV. You can bet that one will push the boundaries of what's considered "heavy" even further. It's a fascinating, and perhaps slightly concerning, trend in the EV world. Performance is king, but at what cost – literally, and figuratively?
