Gaming News 23 November 2025

Alright, retro gamers, buckle up. The Analogue 3D, that much-anticipated modernized N64, is finally getting a restock – preorders are slated to reopen on November 24th, with a shipping date tentatively set for December 2nd. That's the good news.

Now, for the less-than-stellar part: the price is going up. We're talking a jump from $250 to $270. Analogue is citing tariffs as the culprit, which, honestly, isn't entirely unexpected these days. Everything seems to be getting pricier, doesn't it?

And, just to add a little extra sting to the tail, the Analogue 3D has been delayed yet again! Remember when it was supposed to drop before August ended? Well, scratch that. We're now looking at a Q4 2025 release. Q4 2025! That's quite a wait. Initial estimates put it in Q1 2025, but hey, delays happen. They shifted it to July, then August, then December... and now, well, you know the story.

Apparently, while previous delays were all about those pesky US tariffs, this latest one is blamed on a "production issue." Analogue isn’t being super specific, but they're saying that practically everything is done. In their own words, "Analogue 3D has been in development for 4 years, obsessively. It’s at 99%. Hardware, system, packaging--the full kit--been set for months. The last 1% is where we’re focused." Sounds frustrating, to say the least. I can only imagine the pressure they're under.

They've also mentioned that this new Q4 2025 timeframe is "intentionally set conservatively." So, maybe, just maybe, we'll see it sooner. But I'm not holding my breath, personally. I've been burned by release dates before. You probably have, too.

Now, some more details for those still interested. The Analogue 3D, in case you forgot, is designed to play original N64 cartridges in glorious 4K. It's supposed to deliver "the essence of CRT" on modern TVs, offering various display modes that mimic the look of classic tube TVs. Think scanlines, shadow masks, the whole shebang. It's also region-free, supports all N64 games, and promises zero lag – all pretty sweet features.

You'll need to supply your own controller, but Analogue partnered with 8BitDo to create a wireless N64 controller that I hear is pretty good. It was released in late July and you can find it for around $40 on Amazon, if you’re looking to ditch those original clunky controllers. Also, in the box you get an HDMI cable, USB cord, and power supply.

Analogue is touting that the 3D offers 10 times the N64's native resolution, which is a pretty impressive claim. They say they've spent four years making sure the experience is perfect. Let's hope that "last 1%" gets sorted out sooner rather than later.
