Call of Duty, for many, is more than just a game; it's a digital home. While it may be a chaotic battlefield where players are constantly getting picked off, the ability to personalize your avatar offers a unique sense of belonging. One of the best ways to express yourself in this virtual space? Dressing up, of course.
COD Skins Ranked: You Won't BELIEVE Who Made #1!
The game boasts a plethora of options, from Call of Duty-licensed skins like Nicki Minaj to the monstrous Godzilla. Activision has forged collaborations with numerous major companies, bringing iconic properties like *The Boys*, *Gundam*, and *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre* to online lobbies worldwide. And let's be honest, it's one thing to be taken out by an RPG fired by a generic soldier, but it's an entirely different experience to be eliminated and sent to the gulag by Frank the Rabbit from *Donnie Darko*. Talk about existential dread!
Now, a quick disclaimer. It's important to note that some of the skins mentioned below may not be currently available in the latest version of Call of Duty. Activision essentially reset cosmetic collections with the relaunch of the battle royale in its 2.0 version back in 2023. Some skins, like the beloved John McClane, have sadly been lost to time (at least for now). Many of these licensed skins were limited-time releases, and their return to the shop remains uncertain. So, consider this a bit of a nostalgic look back at some of the coolest collaborations.
With that said, here are some of the most memorable licensed skins that have graced Call of Duty since 2020:
**Seth Rogen**
A significant part of the appeal of licensed skins lies in their potential for comedic embarrassment. What better way to shame your enemies than by being eliminated by a plaid-wearing, weed-smoking avatar? Seth Rogen, the star of classics like *Pineapple Express*, is among the Call of Duty licensed skins that lean into the absurd. Seeing him parachute into a firefight is unexpected, to say the least. The best part? You can taunt your opponents as Seth, amplifying their rage after being downed by a wannabe Green Hornet, punctuated by that unmistakable laugh. I've seen it happen, and trust me, the rage is palpable.
**Black Noir - *The Boys***
Okay, this one’s just plain cool. One of the most compelling Call of Duty licensed skins satirizes the superhero genre. *The Boys*, with its rollercoaster of highs and lows, offers a gripping and grotesque spin on the worlds of Marvel and DC, and Black Noir stands out as one of its most memorable characters. A dark parody of Batman, he plays a much deeper role in the comic series that inspired the show. Black Noir is an action star, his fight choreography unmatched as he dances around enemies with knives. This makes executing finishers on unsuspecting opponents even more satisfying. Plus, he just looks menacing.
**Paul Atreides - *Dune***
Lisan al-Gaib! While we may not be on a spice-filled desert planet, you can still embody the chosen one with this skin based on Timothée Chalamet's portrayal in Denis Villeneuve's blockbuster adaptation of *Dune*. If you choose to flaunt this Call of Duty licensed skin, you'd better have the skills to live up to the name of Lisan al-Gaib. His mastery with a knife, as Feyd-Rautha learned in *Dune: Part Two*, is unparalleled.
**Judge Dredd**
It's time for judgment. Karl Urban's acclaimed portrayal of the brutal comic book lawman gets the Call of Duty treatment, and it's fantastic.
