Alright, folks, grab your scorecards and settle in because "Dancing With The Stars" just wrapped up its 34th season with a bang! After weeks of sequins, sweat, and spray tans, a new pair of mirrorball champions has been crowned. But who took home the coveted trophy? Let's dive in, shall we?
DWTS Finale SHOCKER! Who Triumphed After a Jaw-Dro...
The grand finale was a three-hour extravaganza that felt like a marathon, even from my couch! The remaining five couples – and let's be honest, it was a diverse bunch – faced off in not one, not two, but *three* separate rounds of dancing. We had the freestyle, the judges' choice (always interesting to see what *they* think is best), and the dreaded instant dance challenge. Talk about pressure!
It wasn't just about the final five, though. The show paid tribute to all the eliminated couples – remember Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas? Or Jenna Johnson and the ever-eccentric Corey Feldman? They all came back for one last dance. Honestly, it was a nice touch, a reminder of the whole journey. But enough reminiscing, it was time for the real competition to start!
First up, the judges' choice. This is where things got interesting. Each couple was assigned a style they hadn't tackled before. Take Dylan Efron (yes, Zac's brother!) and his partner Daniella Karagach. They'd been underdogs for much of the season, but they fought their way to the finale. Bruno Tonioli, bless his heart, assigned them a paso doble to "Stampede." And, let me tell you, when Dylan's shirt came off? The crowd went wild. Bruno himself was practically speechless, gushing about Michelangelo and sculpted physiques. Carrie Ann Inaba, though, ever the stickler, pointed out some hand issues, which, naturally, got her booed. Even Derek Hough chimed in to agree. They got a 28 out of 30.
Then there was wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin with Witney Carson. He was riding high after topping the leaderboard last week, but Derek Hough decided to throw him a quickstep to "Are You Gonna Be My Girl." The added challenge? Irwin had injured himself during rehearsals, and was afraid of overdoing it. No worries, apparently! Derek declared him "Robert, the quickstep king!" I have to admit, it was pretty good - 29 out of 30 for them.
Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa rounded out the initial round. Inaba assigned them a Paso Doble with Rihanna’s “Breakin’ Dishes." Inaba wasn't thrilled, but Bruno was, saying, "You just go for it with so much determination, darling, you’re great.” She and Sosa ended the night last week with a perfect score, so they’ve got to bring it once again for the finale, especially since this marks Sosa’s first time making it all the way to the end. They also walked away with 29 out of 30.
Now, on to the final challenge. Stay tuned for the results!
