Looks like PC gamers are about to get another dose of existential delivery service drama. A PC version of *Death Stranding 2: On the Beach* is looking increasingly likely, thanks to a recent listing spotted on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) website. This, of course, sent the internet into a predictable frenzy.
Death Stranding 2 on PC?! ESRB Leak Stuns Fans! An...
As reported by Gematsu, the ESRB listing names Sony Interactive Entertainment as the publisher for the PC version. Now, this is a slightly different situation than the first *Death Stranding*. Remember that one? 505 Games handled the PC publishing duties for that title, which arrived on PC about eight months after its PlayStation 4 debut. The fact that Sony is directly involved this time suggests a potentially tighter integration and perhaps, dare we hope, a shorter wait time.
*Death Stranding 2: On the Beach* initially launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive back in June. So, if history rhymes – and it often does – we could be looking at a PC release sometime in early 2025. The buzz is already building that an official announcement might even drop as soon as next month's The Game Awards. Keep your eyes peeled, folks.
And it's not like the game isn't worth the wait. IGN, for instance, slapped a solid 9/10 on *Death Stranding 2*, calling it "a triumphant sequel that emphatically delivers on the promise of its original." Pretty high praise, if you ask me. I played the first one and found it... unique, to say the least. Definitely an experience. If you like your games weird, walking simulators with a dash of social commentary, this might be right up your alley.
It's worth remembering that Hideo Kojima, the mastermind behind all this, has a lot on his plate. The *Death Stranding* universe is expanding in some surprising ways. Disney+ is even developing an original animated series, *Death Stranding Isolations*, using a classic hand-drawn style. That sounds fascinating, and really shows how Kojima is willing to experiment with his IP.
Then there's the live-action *Death Stranding* movie, which Kojima and director Michael Sarnoski have confirmed will be its own thing, exploring a completely fresh story. This probably means that Norman Reedus and the gang won't be showing up – at least not in the same roles. There's also apparently another animated film, *Death Stranding: Mosquito*, also in the works. Talk about a busy guy!
But wait, there's more! Kojima is also cooking up the horror game *OD* for Xbox Game Studios – the trailer alone was enough to get the internet theorizing about connections to the famously cancelled *P.T.* demo. Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer are starring, and the whole thing just oozes unsettling vibes. And let's not forget *Physint*, a PlayStation action-espionage title that's being touted as a spiritual successor to *Metal Gear*. Seriously, when does this guy sleep?
One last thing: if you're looking for a bargain to tide you over while you wait for all these Kojima projects, IGN's been all over the Black Friday deals. They've got a big hub with all the best prices on games, tech, and more. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the market for some new gaming goodies.
