Robert Irwin, the wildlife conservationist and son of the late Steve Irwin, has taken home the Mirrorball Trophy on Season 34 of "Dancing with the Stars." I have to admit, even I was a little choked up watching the finale. For Irwin, it was a journey that started long before this season, actually.

Robert Irwin "Stunned!" DWTS Win Leaves Him Speech...

He first stepped into the "Dancing with the Stars" ballroom a decade ago, at the tender age of 11, supporting his sister Bindi as she swept the competition with Derek Hough back in Season 21. Fast forward to Tuesday night, and it was Robert's turn to be celebrated, hoisted onto the shoulders of his fellow competitors alongside his pro partner, Witney Carson. It's a real "full circle" moment, as they say, and you could see the emotion on his face.

In a recent interview, Irwin shared his thoughts on the win, admitting he's still processing the whirlwind of events. "Thank you so much," Irwin said, responding to congratulations on his win. "I’m still in an absolute state of shock." I can only imagine! That kind of pressure, the long rehearsals, the live performances… it's enough to overwhelm anyone.

When asked about the moment his name was called, Irwin didn't elaborate, but I'm sure it was a mix of elation, relief, and probably a healthy dose of disbelief. It was a tough competition this year, and there were some seriously talented dancers.

One particularly poignant aspect of Irwin's experience was having Derek Hough as one of the judges. Considering Hough's history with Bindi, it added another layer of emotional weight to the season. I'm sure that brought back some great memories and perhaps added a little pressure too! Knowing the family connection, I'm sure Hough was rooting for him.

So, will we see Robert Irwin back in the ballroom for an alumni special? He didn't give a definitive answer, of course. (Celebrities are always so coy!) But given his positive experience and his deep connection to the show, I wouldn't rule it out. "Dancing With The Stars" has a way of drawing people back in.

And as for a dance that he'll remember fondly? I'm guessing that's a tough one. Each dance likely held its own unique challenges and triumphs. Whether it was a technically difficult routine or a particularly emotional performance, I'm sure there are several moments that will stick with him. Whatever the case, it was a fantastic season, and Robert Irwin's victory was well-deserved. He definitely brought a refreshing energy and a genuine enthusiasm to the dance floor, and that's something that will be remembered.
