Calpe's Christmas Fair: 11th Edition SURPRISE! What's NEW?
Current Affairs 29 November 2025

Calpe, that gem of a town nestled along the Costa Blanca, is about to get its sparkle on. Preparations are in full swing for the 11th annual Fira de Nadal – that's Christmas Fair to us Anglos – and from what I'm hearing, it's shaping up to be bigger and brighter than ever before.

Calpe's Christmas Fair: 11th Edition SURPRISE! Wha...

Mark your calendars folks: December 5th to the 8th is when the magic happens. The town will be transformed into a winter wonderland, or at least a very sunny, Mediterranean version of one. If you're lucky enough to be in the area, it's definitely worth checking out. I remember stumbling upon it a few years back – completely by accident, mind you – and being utterly charmed by the festive atmosphere.

The festivities kick off on Friday the 5th, and it sounds like they're pulling out all the stops. Think children's workshops, games galore in Plaza Beato Sendra starting at 6 PM, and a performance called "Enchanted Forest of the North" in Plaza de la Villa. I'm already picturing the kids’ faces! There’s also a “Santa’s House” exhibition at the Collector’s Museum – a must-see, I'm told – followed by a proper Christmas Dreams parade. It’s a jam-packed schedule designed to inject some serious Christmas spirit into everyone from the get-go.

The grand finale is on Monday the 8th, with a performance of “Christmas Mischief” at noon, followed by a closing parade. But it's not just about the organized events. The real heart of the fair is in the stalls themselves. Local businesses will be showcasing their wares, offering everything from artisan crafts to delectable treats. It's a fantastic opportunity to support the local economy, snag some unique souvenirs, and maybe even discover a new favourite local delicacy. I’m hoping to find some good turrón myself!

The Old Town is where you'll find most of the action. Massive credit to the Calpe Town Hall for organizing this – it's a huge undertaking. They’re clearly aiming to make this year's fair the best yet. So, if you're looking to get into the Christmas spirit, soak up some Spanish culture, and enjoy a beautiful coastal setting, Calpe is the place to be. Get ready for Christmas cheer overload!
